Heard it's predicted to be a milder hurricane season this year. Is that true I hope?

The 2025 Atlantic hurricane season is predicted to be above average, with forecasts indicating a higher than normal number of named storms, hurricanes, and major hurricanes. Specific forecasts predict around 17 named storms, 9 hurricanes, and 4 major hurricanes (Category 3 or higher). This is expected to be a more active season compared to the 1991-2020 average.

Let them all be fish storms.

We are currently under a severe weather/tornado warning. Had 2.3" of rain in the last 24 hours. This all comes after having only 3 days in April with measurable rainfall.
Dang, that is a rain dump.
We had an earthquake this morning that lasted over 30 seconds. The longest we can remember before was for 2-3 seconds.
Things are a changing…

Maybe a billion Chinese were all stomping their feet in anger over USA tariff's?

On a serious note, I've always wanted to stop in New Madrid and check out their museum.

Gotta think that man kind is altering the weather.
Fracking. Drilling. Burning and drilling fossil fuels. Massive clearing of forests. Dams holding back waters until they flood massively.
One hurricane after another….

Yup, the dry season is over and we're on the daily summer t-storm cycle now.

I was talking about your earthquake. Also, 2" of rain in Florida is called a drink.

The thing is when you’re gardener and keep yearly notes, you see the changes. You see it in the plants, butterflies, bees, etc.

When the river caught fire in 1969, it made me see things a lot more clearly. One realizes they don’t want to eat fish from the water. Etc etc etc.

29.2 inches of rain in September was more than a drink due to Helene. Well over a hundred died and we still have hundreds of bridges out. Interstate 40 is a single lane each way for some years to come.
Anything else?

Thanks. I can never remember how to spell it. But I can spell the counties in VA, and most of the Indian names down here and in CT.

We're up to nearly 6" of rain in the last two days with more on the way. I'm ready for it to stop.

Could you really feel the earthquake? We experienced one when we were in Anchorage that woke us up from a dead sleep that registered 6.1 on the richter scale.

Yessir, it was very obvious what was happening. It started in the NW end of the house (direction of epicenter from us) and continued thru out,
Our big dawg was on alert, looking at our reactions. Nothing fell off the wall or fell over, but there was noticeable shaking of glassware in a cabinet.
