Undercover and WWDM --- I REALLY like this idea! By making a pledge to donating $10 for every HWC win, that would result in each donor being even more interested in HWC wrestling activities and results.
Randy, would like your thoughts, but my guess is that HWC would not want to be in a position to contact each "pledger" and say "Gilman won 3 matches in the tournament this past weekend, so please send your $30." A donation is "free will" not an obligation. Kind of an awkward situation IMO.

Thanks. While I will always support my Hawkeyes, I love how golf and NASCAR and sports like that where you get paid for how you perform. It gives them a little incentive that if they win they bring in maybe $300 per win if there's approx 30 people that do what I suggested. Just think a wrestler could bring in 900-1200 bucks in a day just by himself competing.
The donation per win idea is cool but the club should steer where the money goes.
I meant bring in to the club not bring in for themselves. Sorry for not wording it clearer. I meant more that if the club performs then they get the money.

Just a minor update to keep this forum as up to date as I can...
There is some reason for optimism-- Cant say a lot more right now but largely because of communications,emails and some strong contacts from this forum we have the attention of the Admin. That in itself is really good news because quite simply we have not had it in the past. We will see where it takes us.
Facilities-- Cooperation with HWC was considered to be off the table as of a couple weeks ago ( my perception) or at least way down the road .
I'm not ready to say they are on the table-- but there have been some efforts to get us a seat at the table--that is a start and my reason for some optimism.

Very nice touch, indeed, to have the wrestlers write thank-yous. Direct feedback from the wrestlers and coaches is always much appreciated by fans and energizes supporters to keep giving. There's no substitute for that direct dialogue between the guys in the HWC and their fans.

Just another big THANK YOU on behalf of Hawk fans everywhere. I'm sure I speak for them all when I say how much we appreciate your eagerness to listen, your responsiveness to suggestions, and your willingness to even take in a fair number of criticisms -- hopefully constructive ones. Thanks to your work, the HWC fundraising apparatus is already stronger.
With a team full of people like you, I have no doubt that Hawkeye Nation is going to help propel this program and the HWC to new heights and get the Hawks back to winning Big Ten and National championships with regularity.

Huge thanks to Randy and everyone at the HWC. Between everything you've done here on this board, the handwritten thank you notes from guys on the team (got mine from M* today), getting auto pay set up so quickly, etc. You guys are killing it, I see nothing but great things from the Hawks in the future.

I just found an app that we can use to raise money for the hwc. It's called Benefit Mobile Inc. There are a lot of retailers that will give a percentage of each purchase to a non profit. The percentage is higher is you use your bank account instead of a credit card.

I'm a middle aged diehard IA wrestling fan who up until 2 years ago, out of complete disgust, had never sought out a forum like this. I had to do something to "medicate" the anger and disappointment I felt after another subpar finals performance! I've been checking in ever since but didn't become a member until this drive started and I saw what was happening. I made my first of many contributions last week. It felt amazing!
I was just thinking of how much money could be pulled in if the rest of hawkeye wrestling nation knew this was happening! Would it be possible to publicize this effort somehow? I can't imagine the damage that could be done if all the other marginally tech savvy old guys and gals like myself knew what was happening here! Thanks to everyone on here who steers the ship! Let's get our boys back on top! GO HAWKS!!
