This has been going on for the last 9 years. Fran and his coaching staff are awful and until changes are made this is all we got to look forward to every year, the only thing missing is Bill Murray and the radio playing "I Got You Babe". Yep, Fran's got us alright!

I thought it was hilarious a couple years ago when several posters were warning that if we fired Fran we lose his kids....they are freakin' Iowa preps....big whoop.....my ass is worn out on "nice stories"....give me some athletes from "who cares where".....and the next person that says "at least Iowa St. lost", gets punched right in the ball sack.

Iowa had to guard 2 guys on the 3 point line, Only 2 guys and failed miserably. Lousy coaching and really inept players IMO!
KF runs the athletic department. He chirps in to Barta's ear every week about the importance of stability and how difficult it is to be successful at Iowa. FM has KF's support as the success of the basketball team is an index for the football team.
Question asked by media: How do you see 10-10 conference record? His answer: "In this league, tremendous." Apparently finishing 6th in the standings is overachieving. Cool.

The B1G conference is currently number 3 talent and team strenght wise. The ACC is king and the Big 12 has been number two for a while. Iowa plays defense like a Pac-12 team and shoots like Fran's Siena team conference. A bad formula for success.
Iowa may be number 6 in the conference but their talent gap between the top 5 and Iowa is HUGE!
I think Fran should be shown the door as well but there’s a caveat to that. The new hire absolutely must have really good recruiting chops and/or have assistants that do as well.
We would see a Lick type dip in record for a few years until the new coach brought in his recruits and implemented his system. I would prefer an uptempo, pressing style and primarily in your face man to man, disruptive defense.
You have to have the Jimmy’s and the Joe’s to do it so unless you can find a coach who recruits to that type of system, Fran doesn’t have those types of players, it’s worthless to even try and play uptempo because you’ll see a negative effect on the defensive end of the floor.

Connor is the 8th man on this team and plays about 15mpg so our PG can rest a bit. He comes in AFTER a starter makes multiple stupid plays in crunch time.

Yea, you may be right, but Connor by himself is not the problem. As the coaches son he is stuck between a rock and a hard place. He has zero confidence is his shooting so if he throws up brick after brick or if he dribbles around to find an open teammate he's chastised either way. You can't have it both ways. He's a freshmen and yes he's the coaches son but someone has to spell Jordan and if I have to choose between Connor or Mushie Dailey, I'll pick Connor all day.

That’s my issue that those are our best two options. Fran has had multiple chances to bring in a grad transfer from another program to help out. He chooses not to and now his son is the whipping boy. Sucks, but Fran is the only person to blame.
