Fran’s replacement

Look at Michigan, last to first in one year. Bring in a coach who has talent he can bring with him. Time for a change.
Gunner it’s been long overdue for a change for this program! I keep beating a dead horse but Barta screwed the pooch not once but twice with his basketball hires! Not even going down the KF path!

Why the hell wouldn't Fran hire a D minded assistant
My choice:

Fight Me Jasper Dolphin GIF by JASPER & ERROL'S FIRST TIME

Wisconsin isn’t anything special. And they looked like an elite 8 team in Madison.
Beg to differ.
Badgers just went into Mackey and beat PU by double digits...rare occurrence.
Gard has adjusted every aspect of that program over the last couple of years and has a well-constructed roster built to make a run in NCAA tourney.
3 7 fters with 2 big strong athletic guards ...all good 3 pt shooters...and strong defenders who rebound?
That'll work in March.

We can disagree here and not make it personal.

I disagree. The fact that things got swept under the rug after his youngest killed a Vet that I served with.....

Well...you can imagine how I feel about him. Don't want to ruin the kids life, but a family lost their father/son/brother....

The family statement after their kid blew past a stopped car at a cross walk was that the accident was "unavoidable." That type of accident is 100% avoidable simply by slowing down to a non-lethal speed and being careful.

The classy statement would have been to offer their condolences and just leave it at that.

Unless they are Dean Smith or Bob Knight 10 years is plenty for any Hoops coach. Bring in a new great coach and move forward. I hate huge buy outs and large extensions to contracts to get someone to stick around. They will leave for better jobs anyway or programs will be stuck with expensive mediocrity.

Yea, well Fran has......

Mulvey, Brauns, Harding, Dembele, Tjado, Pryce who are terrible defenders that can't rebound, so are we saying that won't work in March?

This is the same Coach who played His Son over future NBA Kids , He brought and prioritized His own Personal life into Iowa Basketball long before this post to be fair.

Such a lazy take. Not nearly that simple, as detailed in the above link.

Also, Patrick is playing a ton of minutes at Butler.

If you don't like Fran, that's fine. But at least be accurate in your reasoning

Roster construction lately under Fran is mind boggling! Again these kids seem like great student athletes and have high character but they just aren’t the players to make things happen come March!

It sure looks like writing on the wall with Fran as I can’t see him being the coach next season. With that said here are a few coaches that they need to look at hard!

Ben McCollum Drake
Chris Jans Mississippi St
Darin DeVries West Virginia
Jarrod Calhoun Utah St
Buzz Williams Texas AM (wildcard longshot)

Thoughts…
Cross off DD. I still felt at the time of this posting the BM was number 1. Will see where this ends up but still like the chances of him coaching at Iowa next year. Love to get Buzz but know that is a pipe dream. Calhoun would be another good choice in my opinion.

As of today, Fran is irreplaceable!

Brauns, Pryce and Dembele were all decent defenders who actually rebounded pretty well. I don’t know why you are criticizing Tadjo. He didn’t get to play much at all but when he did he rebounded quite well. He is also very athletic. I hope he stays because he potentially has a high ceiling.

They did offer their condolences. You are being highly judgmental, aren’t you?
