I love CJ, But Statistically...

I don't care if Beathard's stats aren't flashy. Like Stanzi, Beathard is a great leader, and more importantly, the team believes in him. I'd rather have Iowa be in this situation with a qb who doesn't have attention-grabbing stats than have the best qb in the nation and go to a mediocre bowl game. It's a team game. Everyone's doing what they're supposed to be doing, and if they keep this up, I'm sure they'd take the fruits of the team's labors at the end of the season over being named an All-American. If team chemistry was a stat, Iowa would probably be no 1 in the nation in it. I'm happy for all of Hawkeyeland!

If CJ was in the big12 in shotgun formation all the time slinging the ball he'd be mentioned for the heisman. He can do everything Oklahoma's QB can do and better.

Another great win by the team...but again, CJ put up possibly the worst numbers of any Big 10 quarterback this week. He threw for 90 or so yards against a team with a losing record. He had a couple nice runs though, but it was Canzeri and the defense who stepped up. Great team effort.

The only stat that matters is 12-0. Not his best game but he continues to play on one leg. I will take him any day of the week.
