We do two things in Iowa, grow corn and beat bluebloods. Boom.

Why wouldn’t the B1G want to have (for the most part) their 2 best teams in the West play Friday & (for the most part) their 2 best teams in the East play Saturday?
9 out of 10 years I would be willing to bet the West is represented by Iowa or Wis & the East is represented by Oh St or Mich.
Maybe 1 out of 10 years none of those 4 teams are in the title game.

There's no upside for NU playing Iowa.. As a Husker fan, I'd rather see us play Wisconsin each year on Friday. It would be a wider watched game, and have more pizazz for recruiting.
Upside. Nebraska isn't going to level off. They are due for a beast mode, and we want to be there when they do.
Whether we like it or not, Iowa - along with Nebraska, Minnesota and Wisconsin - are all joined at the hip in this conference. These 4 should all play each other as the last 3 games on each's schedule.
Then, give the west a showcase day for the conference. Three games at 11, 3 and 630 (Illinois/NW being the 3rd west game). Then give the rest of the conference the following Saturday.
By say week 10 - they'll know whom to flex into what time slot to maximize TV sets.
Have Purdue and Indiana be the 7th game to even things out where all 14 are playing Saturday. UM/OSU of course, MSU/PSU, and Maryland/Rutgers.

Wisconsin all day. Don’t care if it’s friday or saturday, prefer Friday but the opponent trumps the day.

Do you think the pizazz of Wisconsin dropping 50+ on you every Black Friday will be more effective for your recruiting?
Doubtful that the game would be more widely watched unless you were playing Wisconsin for a division title
Maybe Nebraska should just try to have a competitive game against Iowa before they go asking for more?

I'd rather have a name brand team that we can beat down in front of a captive audience instead of a team that can beat us down.
Beating Nebby used to be cool, now it's just expected. They're basically Iowa St. minus the high-quality water.
I would prefer to keep the black friday game just the way it is. I believe Nebby will get better with Scott Frost as the head coach. No, not like they were in the last century but certainly better than they are right now. Keep the match up right where it is.

I would vote somebody besides Nebraska if they kept Riley, but Frost will be a difference maker. They will be competitive soon and it will be a game that makes a difference. Judging from the fact that our site has no less than 3 Husker posts on any given day, they are already a rival.
Why would anyone in their right mind sacrifice time with their family, the super bowl preview or a great golf tournament to be a dick on some other teams board. I'm from NW Iowa and I would definitely rather have Iowa end the regular season with Nebraska than Wisconsin. I see Nebraska more as our rival, plus now that they have Frost as their coach they'll be more competitive than they have been in the last 5 years or so.
