I just love how their old AD did one last thing to piss off their fan base by saying he didn’t really want Black Friday games and now too late to play in it for least 2 years.

I think it's possible he was 'taking one for the brand.' If the B1G was gonna take it anyway, he'd have saved some egg on their face by getting in front of the story and saying they didn't want it - except the fan base and writers were not on board at all, because OF COURSE they want it.
