Actually Lunardi now has us at a 9 so I will be sweating on selection Sunday if that happens
If we lose out we will be in Dayton. No questions asked, because we have only 1 marquee win now (Mich). ISU tanking is not helping and of course Oregon/UCONN are trash as well. So our non-con SOS is creeping up into the higher digits.
I hate to say it but we need at least 1 of 2 to be safe.
Also I will say I listened to a podcast the other day and the guy went on talking about how hard it’s gonna be to seed teams, because the committee hasn’t come out and said how they will use the NET and other metrics. So some of these guys are just throwing darts at a board. If a team is at a 9 (the committee could move them up/down a spot or two). He said as long as your not a 11-12 and last 4 in he said your team should be in, just depends on how the committee seeds.
This makes no sense. If we have won our last game of the season, then we finish 21 - 12.
I agree one win is necessary to be close to 100% safe from Dayton. That one win can also be a win next Thursday in Chicago but to be TOTALLY 100% safe from Dayton we MIGHT need to win one of the road games this week OR win 2 in Chicago.
What if they lost out totally. 2 Regular season, one in BTT, and one NCAA game, all L's?
I would guess nothing. I don't think that many people really care that much anymore honestly. We all cheer for the team when the games are on, etc. but once the season is over, the whole thing leaves most people's consciousness until next November.

The general consensus with "bracketologists" is that we are an 8 seed currently; add 2-3 losses to that and Selection Sunday might get interesting... Especially if ISU tanks their last games leaving us with 1 solid win.
To answer the op’s question. Simple, Iowa finishes 21-12. The board melts down, wants Fran fires and players to transfer. In the end nothing happens and everyone moves on the talk about next season or other sports.
90% of the fan base was pissed off before the bowl game. Now everyone is back on the Ferentz wagon. It is odd.
If the hawks don't win another game before selection Sunday, I could see them being NIT bound.

Not really. I just don't think the allegiance runs that deep for most people anymore.
I just hope they play together and play smart. Play hard you only have 2 games left, and also I’m looking for some unsung hero’s. Moss/Baer/Kriener to step up. Our bench has been non existent the last couple of games.
Baer just scored 17 the last game. Kriener has 4 but only played 7 minutes. Kriener had 9 points and 5 boards against OSU and 8 points against Indiana. Played very well in both just limited minutes. Our starters keep crapping the bed.
Iowa will not fall below an 8 seed no matter what happens. Continue to lol@ the Lunardi references, like he is going to be magically accurate this year for a change. They are around a 7 now. When they were winning, they stayed at around a 6, it's not like the movement is that dramatic either way. Losing 2 games won't make them drop through the floor, though losing to Nebraska could kick them down to an 7/8 range.

We are not defending like a top 20 3-point defense team during our current losing streak. Teams are hitting more than 10 3-pointers a game in our recent losses
How much do you wanna bet on the Nebraska game? I’m planning on betting whatever Nebraska is favored by. Iowa is tired and has very short rest for another road game. It’s gonna be ugly.
