Don't leave Jesus because of Judas.

That is a great quote Nole.

I’m sure I’ll take some grief but I don’t think Jesus was as “woke” as some might think.

He certainly accepted everyone as they were, but He also expected people to repent and change if they were sinning according to His laws.

I’m certainly not here to criticize anyone’s beliefs, nor judge anyone. Please don’t take this post that way. I’ve likely done more really crappy things than many on here.

Everyone has the right to their own beliefs.

My understanding is that it's a criminal offense, but could carry civil penalties (i.e.: just a fine, no jail), that could escalate based on the above.
Honestly I'm not an expert on these issues. Your explanation works for me.

My point is, yes, it's illegal. But it doesn't carry the same weight as class A felony.

Good post.

Jesus also warned about Hell a couple dozen times as the consequences of our actions.

So are we just assuming everything is the same and Jesus is just allowing illegals to stay or has Jesus changed the entire US to what he believes. If he has changed the entire US, the country won’t be how it is now. All the rich people will have moved away and we’re probably a poor country. Are we putting people in jail or do we forgive people for their crimes. Are people going to stay here if they have to forgive everyone?
You never, ever, cease to amaze…..

Ahhh, my favorite...when people that don't believe in Jesus or Christianity and mock the very premise, but also purport to know exactly what he would have to say.

"This clown idea that I have nothing but disdain for...proves you are wrong!"

But anyway...the premise is absurd on its face as Jesus would never be president, and Jesus isn't a Republican or Democrat or a earthly politician. He never claimed to come to solve major political questions of his time or any time, and expressly rejected the pressure on him to do so. And that's just as much an indictment on the way many Republican politicians leverage him as it is to try to leverage him this way.
Ya think?

You pose a hypothetical argument using a fictional character to interject a controversial subject.

Interesting debate material.
