If there is one positive from yesterday loss

Nope. Just the usual general comments that Iowa was in fact too white..........
I won't comment on race but the posters who got on their soapboxes making the case that Iowa was plenty athletic and physical enough were and are sadly mistaken. I'll miss Luka and the team results he was largely responsible for but I'm also very excited for the young guys who are more versatile. Sick of 1 dimensional players

Well we keep telling ourselves that. maybe someday it will actually happen.......
If I am being completely honest with myself, I didn’t see anything to get me too excited...outside of the obvious KM, but that’s about it. I also liked what I saw in PattyMac, but I am not so sure he would crack the starting line up in any of the top tier BigTens programs yet he will be featured starter at Iowa next season. Not saying things are hopeless, but this program is a long way off based on what unfolded Monday morning/afternoon.

I agree. I’m not that excited about next year’s team at all.

I don’t think people realize how truly dominate Garza was. He WAS our team.

Even if every player came back, including Bohannon, we’d struggle to make the tourney. Imagine how much Weiskamp & Bohannon would struggle next year without Garza drawing double teams.

Next year could be a real tough year unless we happen to get lucky with a couple of transfers. I just do not see many scorers. Defensive should be improved and a more athletic team. One wild card no one seems to be talking about is Kris Murray and maybe he will light it up.
Yeah, there could be a glimmer of hope with the brothers Murray and un-probable stud transfer or two I guess. I just see some mediocre years ahead - essentially more of what we had prior to this season. I honestly don't know the answers, or how/if Iowa basketball will ever be relevant in serious college basketball discussions (and not just an afterthought). Maybe we are destined just to be a Football school, no shame in that. ;)

We used to be a basketball school under Ralph Miller and a national contender. I have to believe we can be both :)

"I haven’t heard of any death threats to our players from hawkeye fans"
They are too busy making racist comments to players on other teams: kid from Benton high school posted instagram comments at Kofi.....

Garza was dominant but I do think that led to other players deferring to him too much at times. We’ll score just fine next year, Fran had an above average offense while starting Gessell, Clemons and Woodbury. If Weiskamp comes back, I expect him to be an 18-20 ppg guy and 1st team All B10. I think the team will look a lot different than any Fran team next year. I’m really excited about the two way potential of Patrick and Keegan on the wings. Iowa can go small and five out at times which they have really never done.

Well Garza played his a$$ off so I wouldn’t see him getting any death threats. As for the other upper class leaders, I think a majority of us are excited to see them leave. Probably why we haven’t seen any death threats.

Yeah I hate to be negative but I just don’t see us ever making the sweet 16 under Fran. I mean if we can’t do it with the POY, an NBA prospect, and lots of experience, when can we??

Sometimes you just have to catch lightning in a bottle. That's what Loyola has done. Get the right match ups.

Loyola is not catching lightning in a bottle. Have a chance to make their 2nd final 4 in 5 years. They just pounded arguably the hottest team in College basketball besides Gonzaga in Illinois, which was a nightmare matchup for pretty much everyone. It’s not about lighting in a bottle. It’s about being consistent and tough, something Frans teams are not.

Lol. Accusing Iowa fans of being racist because of the actions of one 15-16 year old kid is a bit of a stretch pal.
Welcome to the era of reason and logic. Why think...when you can be woke?
I guess you two missed the football board last summer. Why listen to dozens of players' experiences over years of being in the program when you can sit at your keyboard and call them liars and worse? I'm glad I don't live in a place I have to be in denial about

So you hate Kirk Ferentz and want him fired?

What the F does that have to do with racist fans? The answer is no but I give him credit for admitting blind spots, dumping doyle, and committing to change. The fans who can't acknowledge reality and called the players liars called Kirk a liar too when he acknowledged the issues. Still gave his worthless son the highest raise on staff at 75k I think but I've accepted we are nepotism U

I hope that is the case..he showed some athletism in his brief appearances

Didn't miss it at all. I read, listened to and considered it all in detail. Then I put it into perspective with everything else that was said by other players, coaches, families and reporters around the program. Funny, when you do... the exaggerations, false premises and just plain BS tend to reveal themselves (not unlike some of what you typed above).

I would hate to find out that there's some kind of systemic racism within our athletic department. It really concerned me until I had the whole picture and was able to separate real ugliness...from snow flakes.

You may want to revisit the classic children's fable "Henny Penny" or "Chicken Little" as it's sometimes called.

Didn't mean to dismiss them. They deserve the kudos, absolutely they are talented and tough plus well coached. I hope they go all the way.

This is pretty accurate, but I'll add one more thing or maybe two...1. don't have to listen to posters bitching anymore about Bohannan not being able to guard anyone and 2. I don't have to see Connor throw up bricks just because the shot clock has run down for at least 7+ months, don't mind him playing spot minutes but man his shot is hard to watch.

Another positive was we finished a season with single digit losses. It has been awhile since we could say that, correct ?

First time in Frans tenure, and we know it didn't happen in the 3 years before Fran showed up, maybe 2005 was the last year?
