Ok, before we get up in arms about the game thread being started on a Thursday, relax. Take a step back. We need a change of pace for our hawks. Two Saturdays ago it didn't work, last Friday didn't work, so we are taking it a step further, and going with a Thursday. We need to build momentum heading into Saturday's game. Keys to the game below:
Keys
- Establish a running game.
- Win the field position game.
- No turnovers.
- Bend but don't break. I will say it again, bend but don't break.
- Establish a medium to long passing game.
- No kick returns allowed past the 25.
- Good clock management. No kneeling it with 1:30 left in the half.
When we will play Illinois you can throw the records out the window because this is a border war, and believe me Lovie wants this W. I think Kirk will bring the fire, and play to win this game in the early going.
Illinois 6
Iowa 34
