IMART vs Nolf

Not arguing just correcting errors. My point was the Mega has a motor that does not quit. You seem to be correct though. I did make the same claim for wrestlers named Taylor, Ruth, and Molinaro. All accused of stalling and equally ignorant accusations.

I'm not going to discount Nolf as the guy is a beast and will not stop attacking. I'm seeing a possible replay of what happened 2 years ago, when the world shifted when Reatherford beat Stieber in their regular season dual. Then Stieber beats Reatherford during either Big Ten or NCAA, can't remember which. I'm not discounting the win by Nolf, but I'm guessing (and hoping) that IMART comes prepared for the rematch in the finals at Big Tens.

Only in your mind. Mega stalling is a joke. He has a motor and never quits. Where this comes from I have no idea maybe his freshman year when he went into OT with the defending champ and he lost several matches. That is insulting to me as claiming Ramos was a stalker would be to you. Both equally false and both exceptional wrestlers.
It appears when some of our own posters choose to commend and "slap on the back" the "good" pen staters, we then get even more pen state trolls who appear to show up en mass. Nothing good about having a 1/3 of the posts on this site from pen state trolls.

I've said it before and will say it again, these pen staters are the worst know it all guidos you will ever meet in the wrestling community (granted, this is a pretty highly respected group, but someone has to bring up the butt end, and the pen staters appear to fill that role as if it were their birth right). Let's not forget the state of Pennsylvania has very good people in much of the state and particularly in the Western part of the state. However, the ones near Philly and those that end up at pen state are just what you would expect from entitled, blathering buffoons--but then what would you expect from a school which has a recent history as shameful as pen state.

I would also be 100% shocked if some of the "good" pen staters who post here also did NOT have a second or third trolling account they use here on our site. From the Sandusky/Joe Pa days they have proven to be very good at having secret identities and life styles. Perhaps you, like myself, see them here as daily reminders--how even good people can be corrupted by those whose corrupt actions go unchallenged.

Stand up Hawkeye Report. This is your site. Do not allow it to become pen state lite, we have seen where that disgusting tunnel or deceit and betrayal can lead. Keep the filth back East in Happy Valley.

Both. Streibler beat him in the Big Ten and NCAA finals, pretty easily.

True champ though. Still signing for the kids after the dual.

Thanks for posting that photo. Good job out of IMart. My respect for him just bumped up a few notches. Love to see that kind of sportsmanship, and especially love seeing guys take time for kids. This shot reminds me of Tony taking time for a photo with Streibler and a young kid right after losing in the NCAA finals.

When wrestlers make time for kids, especially following a disappointing loss, so many good things result. . . . The kid gains a hero, the wrestler reminds himself of what's really important in life, the fans get a lift from seeing a wrestler overcoming the disappointment of defeat, and the sport adds another shining moment to its history.

Funny how one image like that can change your perception of a wrestler. I wasn't real fond of IMart's reaction after his win in Carver last year, but I now see him as a guy who just loves the challenge of competition and the thrill of victory. There's little doubt that he'll end up with only a handful of career losses, if that, and he did have a great shot at becoming the second ever to go undefeated in college. Considering that this was his first loss at this level, and considering what might have been, I'm all the more impressed with how he handled it. My money's on IMart int he rematches. I'll sure be pulling for him.

So I guess we need Imar to get a couple MORE losses so he can get the 4 seed at NCAA.........

Ideally for us, Miller ends up the #1 with Imart and Nolf at 2 and 3. Imart beats Nolf in the semis. I do think Imart beats him at Big Tens, assuming Coop doesn't.

I to am pleased to see imar taking his first lose like a man, changed my opinion of him, not that he cares about my opinion.well done young man.

Anyone beating IMart is one hell of a win, no matter how it happens. For those that say IMart somewhat gassed due to trying to horse Nolf around early on, that could certainly be true, but that approach has worked very well for him, no matter the opponent. Since it was apparently detrimental in this match, he'll have to take a different approach in the rematch, which I presume he will (I doubt he'll stray to far from what has gotten him to this point however, he'll just have to do it better and probably with less risk involved, and more of a "I just need to win" tactical approach). I have a hard time picking against him, that's for certain. Regardless, Nolf has proven to be everything he's been touted to be, so there will be some doozies coming up between these 2 it appears. Should be great entertainment for all.

Without out a doubt. He lost for the 1st time in his college career and shook hands like a champ. He didn't use the wuss hand slap on his way by. Hard not to root for this kid.
Nope. He was staggering in a daze and the ref yanked him over. Watch it again.

Agree, who but these two will win 157/165 in BIG for the next 3 years?

Most of your posts go unnoticed.

Time zone might have something to do with your erroneous assumptions regarding sleep. That you feel sad is the correct emotion for a Joe Pa apologist to have--good for you to understand this.
Probably too much for you understand in the end though.

True. But, some points:
  • Zain was a "true freshmen" when he wrestled Streiber. Neither Imar or Nolf are true freshmen.
  • Steiber "never" took bottom again in future matches with Zain when he had a choice. He feared Zain that much at that position
  • Zain got a lot stronger during his redshirt year. I'd love to see them wrestle now

I see your other Joe Pa/Sandusky login name liked your post. You are now "noticed."

Curious as to how many other Joe Pa handles do you use.
Now you're getting paranoid. One handle only. J Town grew up about 200 miles away from me given his handle. I grew up around "guidos" outside Philly - nice ethnic slur by the way.

Thought you were a "neutral" or are you claiming these neutrals are flocking to the Iowa site like the Sandusky/Joe Pa crowd you idolize?

Chickenman, 86_90 knows zilch about wrestling. He covers his lack of knowledge by going off-topic with JS stuff.
Not as much as some on this board, but on the Joe Pa/Sandusky site I'd be a quoted source daily of legendary wisdom. Did difference, but then again, that's why you are here. Right.

I find it hard to believe that an adult acts like this on a message board. You can comb through every one of my posts. I've been nothing but respectful when I visit this site. I've put out extra effort to not comment on the performance of any Hawkeye wrestlers. I haven't made a single comment concerning their coaching staff nor have I made any disparaging remarks about the school or its fans. I've done this because I enjoy the site, gain valuable information and would rather not be labeled a troll although at times I'd like to give my opinion.

There are maybe a handful of folks that visit this site that I really don't care for at all. I've held my tongue, resisted responding to them and not once gave an opinion that might not be in line with their own. Again, I've done this to keep the peace. Even though I disagree with them and some of the things they say may even put me and other good people here in a bad light, not once have I hit the ignore button on anyone including you.

It's a real shame that folks like me can't come here and do what this board was intended to because there are people that feel they need to ride you because you are a fan of a rival team. To the 99% of you out there that talk wrestling, refrain from the bullshit and share wrestling related material and information, I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart. For that other 1%, I hope one day you'll realize you can and most definitely will hurt a great site and maybe even chase off good people who have much to share.

This is precisely why I still read your posts. There are decent PSU posters. They're in the minority, but they exist.

JTS...two things. 1)Don't let 86 get you down. It gives him a warm, toasty feeling inside ;) 2)Everybody has their trolls. However, on HR, we get on ours a bit more than you all do yours on BWI. I also feel, having been a regular on both boards, that we are a more intellectually honest on HR that you all are on BWI. Many of our guys call it like it is. I choose my words carefully on BWI because you all are a bit more sensitive. It's also probably why you only have a few opposing team regulars on there...they have been ran off throughout the years. I've seen it.

Finally, maybe guys are tired of PSU guys coming over here this year when last year, there were only a few that would post regularly...now that PSU is a favorite once again, seems like the flood gates are open. You're a good dude...so are quite a few others from BWI but excuse a few others on HR if their perception is that PSU fans just want to come over and start stuff. We are used to it and normally have no problem arguing...just gets old when we just want to talk about our match today.

I think you hit the nail on the head right there. The chest thumpers are easy to identify, because they come out of the woodwork once they know they have a national title contending team. Last year, there was hardly a peep from PSU fans on HR, and only the level-headed ones were anywhere to be found, for obvious reasons.

I don't notice any difference this season, because the trolls are all invisible to me. . . .

I agree, I come here to learn. you have the best board on the net. BUT, I am a die hard PSU fan. the reason is because of the wrestlers non stop action. you guys are picking up some good ones so I look forward to the future. btw, I roomed with a guy in college who only took third at state in iowa in mid 70's and I only scored when he let me so I have nothing but respect for iowa wrestling. thanks

fk - every CC match -that gd ref has his face 2 inches from cory's arms and calls pd when the arm hits his nose = illegal fist to the back.

megy's rep is as a staller like jesse delstallo

I suppose someone completely unfamiliar with wrestling could believe Nico is a staller. Other than that, a first grader in his first year of wrestling understands Nico always present, never retreating is not doing much stalling. Did you play a good game of basketball yesterday?

So strong in fact that Pico manhandled him:rolleyes:

If IMar and Nolf meet again at B1G's and IMar wins, does that give the 1 seed to Miller at Nationals? Nothing against Miller, he's a really good wrestler, but I think he should have to beat Nolf or Imar to make the finals. It'd be a shame to see those two in the same half of the bracket.
If the seeding committee has a half a brain, they'll make sure Imar/Nolf are 1/2 (provided they lose to only each other--or at the very least on opposite sides). Anything other than that is simply an injustice to the kids and the sport.

Comparing freestyle to folkstyle? Geesh! I would love to see how strong Pico would look after Zain rides him. Pico probably still wins, but he ain't going to "manhandle" Zain in Folkstyle.

Zain would have to get in a position to ride Pico unless he chooses top in the second.
