Hopefully they cancel Iowa’s too. Honestly there’s nothing to gain from playing them except conference seed.
On another note, are B1G teams the only ones still doing this? Seems pretty dumb at this point. They should be forfeits.

I still would enjoy beating them.

Minnesota-Illinois postponed due to COVID-19
Minnesota's game at Illinois that was scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed because of COVID-19 health and safety protocols within the Gophers' program, and rescheduled for Feb. 20.www.espn.com
Article says 8 healthy scholarship guys last game vs Maryland. But I wonder if they take into account available players overall such as walk ons if determining if they meet minimum 7 guys.agreed
You mean lost to MNAccording to this graphic, we likely lose

It’s also, the logical assumption you would make by looking at the chart, although admittedly un-probableit was a joke
note the wink

Agree. We need this game and need to take care of business vs a bad team.*assuming this likely means that the Iowa/Minnesota game gets postponed as well*

Iowa is gonna need that game after the (very likely) L @ Purdue on Thursday night, to immediately right the ship again. As well as not screwing up the timing of the rest of their remaining schedule.
And don't really understand the mindset about "this is a good thing for Iowa". If the Hawks can't beat a BAD and very shorthanded Minnesota team, even on the road, they deserve whatever happens because of it; be it BTT and/or NCAAT seeding.

Any chance to kick the gophers when they're down and put one in the W column must be exercisedI still would enjoy beating them.
Isn't the Feb 16 OSU game at home? Not a Quad 1.You're right in that there's not much to gain other than tournament seedings. And what's to lose? Well, Minny is dangerously close to a Quad 4 game. Playing at the Barn is not easy, even when they suck.
Here's where our 8 remaining games fall. We have FOUR more Quad 1 opportunities at the moment.
Quad 1: Home (1-30), Neutral (1-50), Away (1-75)
Thu Feb 9 at #4 Purdue, 6 pm CT, ESPN2
Thu Feb 16 at # 41 Ohio State, 8 pm CT, ESPN2
Sun Feb 19 at # 52 N'western, 5:30 pm CT, BTN
Tue Feb 28 at #22 Indiana, 6 pm CT, ESPN or ESPN2
Quad 2: Home (31-75), Neutral (51-100), Away (76-135)
Wed Feb 22 at #77 Wisconsin, 8 pm CT, BTN
Sat Feb 25 vs # 45 Michigan State, 11 am CT, ESPN or ESPN2
Quad 3: Home (76-160), Neutral (101-200), Away (136-240)
Sun Feb 12 at #235 Minnesota, 12 pm CT, FS1
Sun Mar 5 vs # 96 Nebraska, 1 pm CT, BTN
Quad 4: Home (161-358), Neutral (201-358), Away (241-358)

I was considering going. Cities just don't appeal to me anymore. Missed my 2nd football game in over 20 years there this year. Closer than Iowa City. No, I just bought tickets yesterday.
They have more than just Covid issues. Find five guys and play the damn game.
Got some tickets a few weeks ago so I hope they play Sunday.
The schedule does work out where if they did postpone they could play Monday. Not sure that enough time with whatever protocols they follow these days. Otherwise if it isn’t Monday rescheduling will be a pain looking at their schedules.
Thankfully Stubhub does full refunds for covid cancellations.

Plus the "we hate Iowa" chant while we beat them down is sweet sweet music.Any chance to kick the gophers when they're down and put one in the W column must be exercised
Fingers crossed game is played. Will know I guess for sure tomorrow when team is scheduled to leave. Looking at schedules tough to find a good date unless MN plays back to back or 1 day in between games which they should be the ones to do so and accommodate iowas schedule if it happens.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how’d you like the play?Honestly there’s nothing to gain from playing them except conference seed.
Good news is that Minnesota is no stranger to playing severely shorthanded this season.
But that said, if Iowa finds a way to lose this game - if it is played on Sunday - they don't deserve much more than a 10-seed in the Big Dance; even if finish rest of regular season 5-1.
Logically true if we have to reschedule. But I’d much rather play them on schedule. A long layoff this time of year can throw a team off.I would definitely take the forefit.
A road big ten game that only amounts to a quad 4 win at best?
Whats the upside of rescheduling?
Think about it, a road quad 4 game that we'd likely have to play on a short turnaround.
Huge risk for absolutely no reward.
Our tournament resume might not be able to sustain a second q4 loss.
