Heard about this last week. My son is a tight end at a 5-A high school near Baton Rouge. His position coach was a grad assistant with the LSU program last year. This came up when I was talking to him at the season kickoff banquet. CSB.

You said "great" at first. I don't care what some writer for SI says. Go back and watch any LSU game from last year and you'll see that he was a below average blocker. Like you said, that was as a true freshman and it's likely that he will improve his all around game, but he was by no means a "great blocking TE" last year. I also don't care that much, so why am I posting twice on this thread? I must be bored. He's been noted to be a good blocking TE. He also saw the field as a true freshman at LSU.
He is a more than solid blocking TE, his film shows that he's not bad. You are here because you want to argue. I have repeatedly stated that he will not be a TE if he comes to Iowa, and the coaches saw it that way as well. 1:08 minute mark, never seen so much pulling from a TE blocker either. You said "great" at first. Well, we can agree to disagree. Two of my close friends are LSU fans, so I watch almost every game. He was below average. And not that PFF is the gold standard by any means, but they had his run blocking grade as 46.2. The average grade is a 60. lol, PFF ranks Borund as a top 5 interior lineman in the big. For other reference, the #1 WR ranked by PFF is Miller from Rutgers, and not a single OSU WR listed...Well, we can agree to disagree. Who is Borund? Do you mean Borud? And you (or PFF) are comparing his grades at North Dakota to Big Ten grades? And Dymere Miller's grades at Monmouth are being compared to Big Ten grades? Was this an article? Sounds pretty dumb.lol, PFF ranks Borund as a top 5 interior lineman in the big. That is how pff works, so congrats on figuring that out. Again, started as a true freshman, not playing TE at Iowa, and yeah I’d say he has more than potential to be a great blocker.Who is Borund? But yeah, let's take some random guy on the internet's opinion and his highlight video from one game as gospel 🤣. Again, go back and watch a full game or two and then tell me that you still think he is a "great" run blocker.
It is my fault that you can't differentiate between competition levels? Do you think the valedictorian at Kirkwood is outperforming a mere average student at Harvard? His class status is irrelevant to his current play. It's not like a freshman kicker has wider goal posts than an upperclassman. I never once speculated on a potential position at Iowa. And now you've gone from "great" to "good" to "more than solid" to "has potential". And I've said all along that he could develop into a solid blocker. That's not what I've been arguing against. My only point is that during his true freshman year, as a tight end, he was not a particularly good run blocker. Go back and watch a few full games and then tell me that you disagree. Until then, you are simply basing your judgment on highlight videos and projection. That is how pff works, so congrats on figuring that out. A true freshman though no? How many of those even sniff the field at LSU?Well, we can agree to disagree. Two of my close friends are LSU fans, so I watch almost every game. He was below average. Very true, and definitely impressive. Not arguing that! He even started a game against Miss St.A true freshman though no? How many of those even sniff the field at LSU?

I didn't cite "rankings". I cited their grade for his running blocking. HIS grade against HIS opponents. Not compared to anybody else's specific grade. I'm concerned about your comprehension skills. Again, go back and watch an actual game and then tell me that you think he is a great run blocker. It's as simple as that.Bro you cited PFF, that is how their rankings work
LMFAO, I guess I just go with the recruiting reports then.I didn't cite "rankings". I cited their grade for his running blocking. HIS grade against HIS opponents. The 247 report was written in July of 2021 when he was entering his junior year of high school. The On3 report was written after his junior year in high school. How in the hell do those describe his performance as a run blocker in his freshman year of college? So now your opinion of his current run blocking ability is based on his sophomore and junior years of high school? Are you having a stroke?LMFAO, I guess I just go with the recruiting reports then.
247 report
Size is not verified but looks and plays big/stout. Physical at the point of attack and thrives in the run game as a blocker. Tone setter in that capacity.
on3 report
He also excelled as a run blocker with his “kill shots” after pulling from his H-back, wideout and even slotback position.
And yet, somehow all you have is you "watching" all of his game film. I think I'm good on your assessment...lolThe 247 report was written in July of 2021 when he was entering his junior year of high school. So, just to make this clear, you put more stock in reading high school scouting reports from several years ago than actually watching current film? Are you going to draft Zach Wilson in your fantasy football league this year? And yet, somehow all you have is you "watching" all of his game film. I think I'm good on your assessment...lol
just to make this clear, I have watched his film, go off of scouting reports, and the coaches opinions that he would play OL at Iowa. You are a typing logical fallacy at this point. I'll let you continue to fight with yourself on the board, it seems like yelling at your old lady isn't enough. So, just to make this clear, you put more stock in reading high school scouting reports from several years ago than actually watching current film? If you have actually watched all of his film (which you haven't) and concluded that he is a good run blocker at this point, then I don't know what to tell you. We can just disagree on that point. Again, I don't know why you keep bringing up the idea of him playing OL. I've never argued for or against that, yet you keep bringing it up. Although it's not necessarily surprising given your lack of reading comprehension skills. And I certainly never yell at my wife, as she is a reasonable and logical person, nor am I yelling at you.just to make this clear, I have watched his film, go off of scouting reports, and the coaches opinions that he would play OL at Iowa. I highly doubt it, I would assume he heads to mizzou. He likely wouldn't see the field as a TE at Iowa.As entertaining as the current pissing match is, does the kid have any interest in Iowa as a possible transfer destination?
That’s how I’m planning to determine if he’s a good blocker or not.As entertaining as the current pissing match is, does the kid have any interest in Iowa as a possible transfer destination?
No idea. Was Iowa even a finalist of his? I know that he took an unofficial visit to Iowa and that his dad played here, but I don't remember how interested he was.As entertaining as the current pissing match is, does the kid have any interest in Iowa as a possible transfer destination?

Seems like we have been getting quite a few good TE prospects in the last few years. Not sure Iowa would have an interest in him.As entertaining as the current pissing match is, does the kid have any interest in Iowa as a possible transfer destination?
I was thinking the same thing. Has to be family emergency or tampering makes little to no sense leaving this late. Be nice if he chose the good guysAs entertaining as the current pissing match is, does the kid have any interest in Iowa as a possible transfer destination?
Do they need him and do they have room for him?I was thinking the same thing. Has to be family emergency or tampering makes little to no sense leaving this late. Be nice if he chose the good guys
I would feel there’s always room for a high caliber athlete, especially if he’s willing to transition to the offensive line which is what the staff wanted to do originally. Could be a great tackle given the measurablesDo they need him and do they have room for him?
It's already on twatter.Going to Nebraska is what I am hearing
This has to be tampering. I suggest an investigation regarding inappropriate contact.Going to Nebraska is what I am hearing
who gives a shit. I guarantee he left because he was passed on the depth chart. He wasn't going to see snaps at TE for Iowa anyhow. This has to be tampering. I suggest an investigation regarding inappropriate contact.
Very true. He was going to be a big part of their TE rotation this year at LSU, and the coaches were very disappointed that he left. He didn't see a future there though, since LSU had brought in two freakish athletes at that position who were already pushing him on the depth chart: true sophomore Ka'Morreun Pimpton and true freshman Trey'Dez Green. I think Mac saw that by next season he may not be on the two deeps, especially if starter Mason Taylor returns for his SR year instead of going pro.A true freshman though no? How many of those even sniff the field at LSU?
He’s clearly afraid of good competition. Have fun NOT accomplishing much at Nebraska.
Good job, elder Markway’s 😆
Nah, it was always his dream to play for LSU, then Nebraska, then Utah Tech.Did Nebby offer a lot in NIL?
Otherwise, this is a head scratcher.

We envisioned him as an OL
