Why would you want to play at that cesspool?
Why would you want to play at that cesspool?
I meant the football program. And no, I have not.Have you ever been to LSU? Cesspool isn’t the first word that comes to mind. 😂
Meh, his mistake. He should really talk to Fidone and see how that worked out......

Of course not, but he still made a mistake going to a school that would never utilize his talents at TE like Iowa would have. His loss.......Are you trying to say that he wouldn't get hurt had he come to Iowa?

Agreed. Just like many Iowa kids grow up wanting to be Hawkeyes, many southern kids grow up wanting to play in the SEC. Sure, LSU has been down but they did win a title just a couple years ago and are a traditional blue blood program.Markway is a southern kid. He grew up in SEC country. To him, the B1G and Iowa probably don’t mean squat minus his dad having been a Hawkeye. Factor in the allure of a blue blood program and the craziest stadium in college football in the best conference… it’s easy to see why he chose them.
Lol right back to you. Why would I be bitter about someone I couldn't care less about. Its called A DISCUSSION. Dude chose freakin Nebraska when he could have had a shot to be the next in a lllooonnnggg line of guys who played in the league. Basically if you play at all, but most certainly if you EVER start at Iowa as a TE you will get a shot to play in the NFL, as have EVERY starter who has played the position at Iowa under KF. Hell we've had a DE and a FB from Iowa that played or is playing in the league as TE. Why any TE doesn't take his shot at Iowa is mind blowing, and yes I know there's been plenty. LSU is a decent pick by Markway, but any kid who would watch how Nebraska plays and choose them over Iowa isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, so NO I'm not bitter....Lol bitter much?
Living in St. Louis is hardly “southern SEC country”. I know Mizzou is now in the SEC but their biggest rivalry basketball game is against the Illini. They had a great rivalry with Kansas when they were in the Big 12. Now they really don’t have a “bad blood” rival in the SEC. St Louis area kids are nowhere close to being like a kid growing up in Iowa wanting to be a Hawkeye. Did Markway have any interest at all in Mizzou?Agreed. I did a student exchange program at LSU one year and it's a fun school and Death Valley on football Saturdays is a FUN time. I get why he went there. CSB.
I had no idea where he was from, just based my "SEC" comments off of other posters saying he is really into SEC stuff.Living in St. Louis is hardly “southern SEC country”. No. My Mizzou fan friend relayed to me even before Markway committed to Florida that he was only interested in the “elite” programs. It wasn’t a surprise that he ended up at LSU after decommitting.Living in St. Louis is hardly “southern SEC country”. A little late to depart, no? He can still obviously get admitted into another school, but camps are underway. Maybe someone was tampering.

If he plans to play somewhere quickly the kid has to have chosen already and be on a plane or in a car headed there.Very late.
hard to believe our 1st game is in just 25 days.
summer is going too fast....
Wow, that would be big. Hopefully it is not a family or health issue.I could be wrong, but he is done until December when the portal opens up again.
We offered him as an OL and told him that is where we saw his NFL future. He didn't like it. We then adjusted and recruited him as a TE....but he was still worried we would move him.he was a great blocking TE, and saw the field quite a bit for LSU. Kid has the frame for OL should he choose to go that direction
reminds me a lot of Logan Lee. He was a top 20 TE recruit and transitioned solidly for the hawks. We offered him as an OL and told him that is where we saw his NFL future. He didn't like it. We then adjusted and recruited him as a TE....but he was still worried we would move him.
Our coaches have great foresight
Don't feed the troll.Hey @DelusionalHawkeyes9.0 Do you always mean to laugh at everyone's posts?

Add AJ Derby as one that should have listenedKF is far from perfect. However, are there any examples of him suggesting to his player a position change where it did not work out in the end?
Some examples (of many) where KF was right:
Robert Gallery was a lightly recruited 225-pound in-state tight end in the Class of 1999; he grew into a 320-pound All-American offensive lineman at Iowa.
Chad Greenway was a two-star prospect coming out of South Dakota in the Class of 2001. Greenway played 9-man football in high school (he was a quarterback and defensive back) who developed into a linebacker in college and finished as a three-year starter for the Hawkeyes, earning first team All-Big Ten honors and second team All-American honors twice in his career.
Scott Chandler arrived in Iowa City as a tall, skinny wide receiver. He was a two-star prospect in 2003, choosing Iowa over SMU. By his second year in the program, Chandler had made the transition to tight end and played a key role in Iowa's run to the Capital One Bowl in 2004.
Anthony Hitchens was a two-star prospect without a position it seemed when he got to Iowa in 2010, playing running back and safety before ultimately finding a home at linebacker.
Top two-star recruits of the Ferentz era
A big part of Kirk Ferentz's legacy at Iowa has been the development of underrated recruits into All Big Ten performers.iowa.rivals.com
I guess he did just a little too late and made the switch for Bert at Arkansas only after he proved he couldn’t hack it at QB after filling in for the injured starter his jr year for some games. Another guy who didn’t make the shift till his final year when it was too late was drew cook who never really saw the field.Add AJ Derby as one that should have listened
He only played 160 snaps (115 of which were against Grambling, Miss St., and Army) and was not a particularly good run blocker. He averaged about 4 snaps per game against viable opponents.he was a great blocking TE, and saw the field quite a bit for LSU. Kid has the frame for OL should he choose to go that direction
He's been noted to be a good blocking TE. He also saw the field as a true freshman at LSU.He only played 160 snaps (115 of which were against Grambling, Miss St., and Army) and was not a particularly good run blocker. He averaged about 4 snaps per game against viable opponents.
