Iowa Offers Class of 2025 Iose Epenesa (pronounced Yo-say)

Do you think recruits look at that? Furthermore, who cares they won the Cotton bowl, pulled a 5* last year, and their transfer class was more than solid. Drinkwitz is an up and coming coach at this point, reminds me of what Kirk did in the early 2000s.
Do I think recruits were aware Marvin Harrison and Kyle McCord opted out? ABSOLUTELY.

Mizzou also backed out of a bowl game with Iowa. May have been due to covid, but we would have kicked there arse and Drink knew. I know many Mizzou fans and they even admit their football and basketball programs are snake bitten.

Backed out of a bowl game and backed out of a regular season game. Living in Missouri I used to hang with some ex Mizzou FB players and root for them. When Pinkel backed out of the regular season game I quit rooting for them. Last year was Mizzou’s first winning season in quite some time 2018 or 2019. Drink may have them headed in the right direction but to say they’ve been “relevant” is a huge stretch.

They are relevant, not have been, they ARE. I am not a Missouri fan, don't care about Missouri, but pulling in Crutchfield, Nwaneri, and getting Cayden Green back in the portal demonstrates that.

Money wise. LSU says lots of players in the portal are highest bidders (driven by $) and not the school.
Which is why a team like SMU is going to become very relevant in the near future. Not sure what Iowa has laying around after paying players to return, but I would think they have relatively deep pockets yet for a player or two. Or is why they are targeting new 4* guys with offers for the 2025 class.

He’s taking all of his free recruiting trips so he must not be interested in Iowa.

AJ would be less than 4 hours if he stays with Buffalo which could be a selling point for Penn state. But given the business of the nfl, hard to predict if he’ll be there that long.

Short term money could easily be better elsewhere. But hard to argue long term would be better anywhere other than Iowa with Phil and KF’s track record. Hope we land him!

AJ already advocated for Iowa on X when He dropped His top 5

You really think KF will still be here in 5 years? I don't believe that for a second.
I think he'll still be here in 5 years.

What else is he going to do? He's not interested in broadcasting. By his own admission, he has no hobbies and he said during COVID that the time off really showed him he didn't have any interest in just sitting at home doing odd jobs.

I think having the albatross that was Brian hanging around his neck has alleviated alot of the pressure (granted, pressure that he caused, but he was never going to fire his kid himself) and if we can find a way to make the playoff this year, I definitely think he'll keep running it back.

I wouldn't be surprised that, if we do happen to make the playoffs, Beth gives him an extension to probably 2032 after the season.

If Kirk were to be guranteed for Iose’s entire career or if Levar were the HC in waiting we would’ve had a commitment already I think
I’ve said for months This will be a big indicator as to how much time KF has left. He’s going to be on the level with Epe. Too much mutual respect there. If Iose goes anywhere but Iowa KF likely told him he’s 2-3 years left and that’s it.

Disagree as to this being the only reason Iose would go elsewhere.

Keep in mind that the youngest siblings often have an overwhelming interest in “I want to do my own thing.”

Good god no more extensions please. If he were to go to ‘32 he’d be 76. No thank you

There are probably 100+ reasons why he would go elsewhere. This connection is far from being mutually exclusive. Just a few off the top of my head.
1.) huge NIL package
2.) Wanting to go his own path
3.) relationships with coaches/players

Does anyone else think Eppy's social media is a bit much? I mean, it's not a big deal and I certainly get being proud of your kids, but......
