Iowa State still likes the troubled thugs

Hope the young man gets help.

You know who else faced multiple charges? Peter Jok. And Iowa gave him the support he needed to be a better person (hopefully). ISU could do the same for this guy. Let's not be shitty about it.

I didn't read what the multiple charges are for the ISU guy, but to bring up Jok's multiple charges, as if he did several unrelated things seems to me to be stretching things a bit.

I dunno. The kid obviously needs help. I've been there myself. Piling on, especially when it's an ISU kid, just seems kinda...petty.

No reason to pile on really. I mean Iowa recruited him for awhile, but then seemed to back off. Probably for good reasons. He seemed to have family issues and if you ever read his twitter or even watched some of his highlight videos, you could tell he had lots of swag, bordering on a no-one-can-touch-me attitude.

I bet he never plays for ISU.

isu #6 in the number of arrests the last 5 years. So much for clone fans and the their arrest smack.

Seems to be a bit of a reach to compare a felony charge to a misdemeanor. I'm not going to pile on, hopefully he gets help and turns out fine.

Jok had felony charges? Don't remember they were that bad.

I'd like to see him redshirt this year to get his house in order. If any of the rumors about his home life are true I can't help but root for him.

I hope he can get the help he needs. Sounds like he needs some counseling and direction. Don't know people have to attack players. They are kids.

This appears to be LE just throwing as much at him as they can, hoping that something sticks. I wouldn't be surprised if he is acquitted of all charges.

Matt Foley told him, "I think you are going to find, as you go out there, that you are not going to amount to JACK SQUAT!!!!!"

You mean like having the cops call him every time the kid broke the law instead of arresting the thug?

There are thugs and there are thugs, I don't think this kid classifies as a thug. Thugs are the ones we see rioting and looting to get free sh** and shooting and killing people for the fun of it. So no, he's not a thug. Maybe a trouble maker buy that's it.

Are you a parent of an 18+ year old? I am. They do wonderful adult things and stupid kid things.

Nick needs help regardless of his age.[/QUOTE}

Just a misunderstood youth. No different than Jason Berryman right Cydkar?

I believe isu's budget only allows for local law enforcement to participate in the "early notification program" established by Freddie. Revenue from their new end zone may allow them to expand to Wisconsin.

Freddy and his "program" with the local cops was priceless. Cydkar will tell us how wrong we have it though just watch.

Great post Hawkirish!!!!!!

I think you are arguing with a ghost. I'm not defending Nick at all. I wouldn't know if Fred had any relationship with the local popo at all.

Of course you will ignore what Freddy said about his "program" with local police. All great clone fans ignore anything negative or even possibly negative about God Hoiberg.

He got an owi. Doubt they are just "throwing stuff to stick" at him for that. Don't care if you are 18, 35 or 50 getting caught driving drunk you are an idiot and have zero excuses for it.

On other side have heard stuff about some personal family issues not sure specifics but sounds like les to him and Marquette parting ways.

ISU has taken risks with kids in the past few years. Risks sometime blow up in your face. Iowa knows this to be true given past experience. The shoe is currently on ISU's foot, and they need to deal with it, but in time it will be on Iowa's foot. I'm sure of this.

The kid has more important life issues to deal with than basketball at the moment. ISU will be just fine this year. It's the year after that will be interesting.

But of course when Iowa has arrests clone fans stated this would NEVER occur at isu. Funny how all of a sudden they can't seem to find their high horse.

Recent events seem to indicate Prohm may value character more than Hoyburger.

Prohm's VERY firm religious views might factor into this. He'll probably abide by any rules previously set.

Now that more stuff came out it makes sense to part ways... You just can't bring people on campus that are potentially violent.

Nope just pointing out what was reported when BDJ had the cops called on him for the 8th time or whatever. Hoiber told reporters he had a "program" with local law enforcement where they were to call him first. Not my words but his.

Talking shit about Hoiberg, their "program" is dumb. They did it, did it differently than almost every other school in the country, and did it well.

Taking issue about guys getting in trouble is dumb. It's gonna happen to Iowa too. It happens to EVERYONE.
