******Iowa vs Oklahoma Game Thread******

Reedy just said the turning point in the game was the intentional foul against Hannah. I would agree. She made a layup that put us down 9 and then they call her for an intentional foul.

None of us are blaming the officials for the loss as the girls looked out of sorts and didn’t play good like they have been. The officials gave the friendly whistles to Oklahoma though and they were a good enough team where there was no way we could crawl back out of that hole without fair calls.

2-2500 per game during the season. NCAA tournament $4,000 per game. Pay that good and be terrible at it.
Dang, maybe we all ought to look into that. Someone has to save women’s basketball. Without Clark some of these games are unwatchable with these officials.

For the next 20 years we are all going to still be dumbfounded and trying to figure out how we failed to capitalize on the CC affect after she left.
There's a couple reasons beyond Iowa's control (not NIL), but too many on here will not want to hear it/disagree so it's not worth explaining to them.

Oh come on, she got smacked pretty good. it’s incidental, and not intentional, but she did get hit
My issue is the refs, and then the announcers saying, "oh yea, that was intentional". BS. That was a basketball play, period. How many times this season, especially in the mens game have you seen someone get smacked in the head, and they reviewed it and called nothing?

well I don’t watch the men lol. But I agree, 100% not intentional

That was a horrible, putrid call but we weren’t going to win today.

Welp that was ugly. On to Spring football and Ben building his roster.

Tip of the hat to Jan and the Lady Hawks. 23 wins after all the roster losses and head coach retiring. A lot of pieces return plus I expect Addie to make an big impact.

I was at the game. Good times! 😂

Guyton and McCabe looked terrified. Deer in the headlights.

Jan's gameplan and lack of adjustments were god awful.

Syd had a bad game. Just hasn't ever recovered from the injury I don't think.

Heiden wasn't ready. Should have had O'Grady in for majority of her minutes for defense.

Hannah was neutralized by OU's size.

Kylie played pretty well but started getting torched on D in the second half. I think she was tired.

Lucy was the bright spot. Hell of a player.

Why does everyone think that just because we are “Iowa” we somehow cannot build a successful WBB program. Iowa Women’s basketball made it sweet sixteens and elite 8’s without CC. It frustrates me that this is the attitude of fans. This roster is horrible and everyone knows it. Jan had an opportunity to bring in portal players to elevate the team and she missed big time. This is on her no excuses. Our starting players outside of Lucy would be buried on the bench of any of the top 10 WBB programs. That’s a problem.

I think Jan needs to define Guyton's role for next year. Seems like she wants to be a shooter first and a point guard second. So young in her career that she can't do both effectively. And she needs to get stronger.

The other thing that was missing this year was toughness, I hope we get that back.
