F off. I hate Iowa “fans”!who root for defeat. I’m no longer a Fran fan, but if he can pull out an f’n NCAA tournament that’s great. I’m not rooting against him.
Knowing what Dix is going through I would think is emotional for Fran.
I"m pissed. meaningless win. Oh well. Other parlays are going well
Personally I'd rather have a team of upperclassmen whose highest aspirations are maybe seeing the court in Europe than a bunch of freshman with a couple lottery picks. Not saying Iowa is the former, but college ball teams are usually better when that's the case. Kentucky last season was a great example. 2 lottery picks among a bunch of freshmen got bounced first game in both tournaments.
I like Pikiell but steering stud freshmen in an up-tempo, high-scoring offense isn't him.
Really good team win, with a lot of guys making hustle plays, which we haven't been seeing. Dembele had his best game as a Hawkeye, making hustle plays that gave us extra possessions. Harding has his best game in a few weeks. Dix still needs to shoot more, but he made a lot of tough shots of the dribble. Payton missed a lot of open 3s, but made a big one when we needed it. Traore can't shoot, but our defense and rebounding is better with him on the court. Mulvey also made some winning plays. We actually outrebounded a team on the road by 7, and limited them to 4 offensive rebounds!!!
I am curious about what Payton said about Dix in the post-game interview with Katz. He suggested that Josh isn't totally healthy ("Josh is battling a lot of things", or something like that). Any idea what that might be?
I like your attitude....but that train has left the station unless you are going to constantly go after mid and low level school transfer portal players every year.
Every player thinks he is an NBA player. Look at Payton. I guarantee he'll never see an NBA court. But he thinks he can. So keep on chucking.

You're wondering about this?? How do you think is RU fans feel about it?? "The season that coulda/shoulda been" It's been heartbreaking & demoralizing.
Also the flu has been running thru the team which helps no one

It's too bad Omoruyi transferred out. I really liked his game. I feel like he would have been invaluable to them this year.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love for Iowa to make a run and sneak in the NCAA tournament but being realistic, Iowa is playing without their best interior player and you have to admit, many times Fran has taken his team into the BIG tournament and laid an egg more often then not.
I'm just not convinced that Iowa will win the first game and even if that happens, being short handed, can they muster enough energy to pull off an upset against a team that is going to be a heavy favorite going into that second game. Just not convinced that will happen nor will it make a difference whether they can get into the NCAA tournament by that time. Seven games left and they could lose as many as 6 of them even if they play well, that's just how I see the season coming to an end and yes I am ready for the Fran era to end.

How many games have you been to this year? Did you read the local papers after the game yesterday? They were absolutely brutal towards Rutgers in a way that Iowa writers would never be to Iowa.
And then we never got a great center to replace him 😔
How many games of Rutgers have you been too> I have watched Rutgers probably 10 times this year. There two best players have been in out of the lineup with injuries 3/4 times. What the hell is your problem. We don't agree so get over it.
I’ve seen them play twice in person. And your comments show you don’t know Rutgers basketball. Harper and Bailey really haven’t missed much time. Bailey was dinged back in the beginning of the season, maybe missed one or two games and he’s been sick the past week. Harper was sick about a month ago and has been playing with the ankle stuff that’s made him miss a few games the past month. Let’s just say it wouldn’t be surprising if both of these guys don’t really finish the season active and I can’t blame them. Similar to the Iowa situation.
