Everyone else was. This is your issue you are trumpeting.
As to future recruiting I don't think there will be much of a drop of. As revered as Bluder is by the players, Jensen is just as revered. She has also been instrumental in a lot of our recruiting.

Not my issue. The programs issue.
I really hope to see some kind of “Committed” post from Deal. I’d be shocked if Gottlieb, Close, Barnes, Mulkey and the new Stanford HC arent texting her today to see how she’s feeling.

Kyle H posted that all of the new team and commits have responded on soc media to the coaching change. I'm assuming he meant that positively.
Wow just wow, we have already had positive information regarding this. Its not to say we have had teams take advantage of schools with coaching changes, but Iowa did about as well as you could, having a plan in place with having Jan step in. Honestly about as smooth of a transition as you could all things considered. I may have to start calling you Debbie Downer.

Reports and gossip and Likes are great and all, but an actual post affirming their commitment is different. It's pretty standard at this point for recruits/athletes to do something like this when there are questions about their future with the program -- whether it's a coaching change or significant transfers out. I posted that comment here, before Deal came out with such a post, hoping she would have one -- I'm very relieved to see she did.
It's easy to forget that Deal is moving halfway across the country -- giving up the relative paradise of OC to move somewhere completely different, where she has no family (I know her brother is 2 hours away but still). Some would say she's taking a big risk in playing for Iowa. She could be forgiven for waffling. I'm ecstatic that she doesn't seem to be.

Life comes in chapters. For a young female from California or Oregon to have a chapter of her life playing basketball at the University of Iowa with Jensen as HC, the Big Ten conference and the culture of the Hawkeye program is a quite reasonable, possibly, great choice. It will be what she wants to make of it!
Why, Orange County is Big Ten country. She should feel right at home here! 
I could actually believe a few recruits might have had some pause coming to IC because of Bluder's age.

This is a little bit of a hiccup, but this year was always going to be a transition year. You have now taken Bluders age and potential transition out of the equation. I would have wished Bluder to stay on and keep going but I understand going out after climbing to the top of the mountain. I think the last couple years has taken a lot out of her.

Deal's affirmation is huge. Just a guess but we may see more 25's soon. JJ deserves the opportunity. She has been a great foot soldier.

Brynn McGaughy and Layla Hays have Liked Jan Jensen-related content. I have not seen anything from any other '25 targets.

What about Guyton? Anyone heard anything? Her dad tweeted that he asked Bluder if she was retiring, and she said no. Didn't sound too happy. He deleted the tweet shortly after.

Yeah that’s very concerning. I’d like to see a commitment tweet from her. But she has liked Jada’s “all in” tweet as well as an IG post from today about Jan’s “big day.”

Jensen confirmed during her press conference that they are retained all of players on the roster and recruits that committed.
The only “fall out” that I heard is that Dauda’s (transfer from Arkansas) visit was cancelled.

I know this but kids change their mind. Her dad’s post didn’t make it sound like he was understanding, even tho Jan said all the parents were. Timing is not great for her even if she wanted to open up her options tho.
I also do wonder if the Dauda cxltn means it’s a no go or if it was a postponement bc of all the hoopla. I would guess Jan was her primary contact. But it was a long shot anyway.
EDIT: Ask and ye shall receive. Aaliyah just shared a Jan post to her IG story, writing “Let’s go Jan Jensen” with black and gold hearts. Relieving.

Dang! I was hoping that we could land her! That would had been a huge get. You think we can still get her to come?
I don't think this is going to happen. Certainly would have been a nice addition to the roster.
Any other bigs in the portal out there that we interested in or interested in coming to Iowa?
Sounds like Jensen is well on top of the recruiting and retention situation. First thing on her mind with the coaching transition. Certainly opens the door to get back in the ears with another hard sell. Not a terrible thing.
It would have been, but never really thought there was any real chance of her coming to Iowa....a dream at best was all it was
Addie Deal confirms her commitment to Iowa is solid despite the coaching change.
Some Deal highlights from AAU. Her offensive stats will not be as high this year with the additions of Jazzy Davidson, Brooklyn Haywood, & Sydney Douglas to her team. I only bring that up so people don't overreact to seeing a drop in her scoring.

I feel bad for Layla, but I wonder if this could be a net positive for Iowa. A great performance by her would have attracted more recruiting attention.

Brenda is pretty late to the game for Henderson tbh. But that ESPN article from a year ago saying she had tons of upside and describing her as likely to climb higher and higher still holds true.
I believe I read that McGaughy will be deciding in the June timeframe. June is just around the corner. Fingers crossed.
I feel like she’s absolutely gonna be a Hawk!!
Turns out we'll get our answer on McGaughy a little before June.
