I enjoy beating a dead horse so it’s worth pointing out that Maddyn Greenway is the tireless fast break PG that would have provided the rocket fuel to the run and shoot high scoring style that Iowa WBB is known for across the nation. Guyton has a lot of potential, just not the same style of player.I am more concerned for 2026. I hope Jan is telling them that is how we intend to play, but it’s a personnel issue. Pushing the ball and our play style (especially the past few years) are huge reasons why recruits want to play at Iowa (and fans like to watch). Otherwise we will definitely lose momentum with recruiting and not get the recruits we are going after.

You are a bonehead.ima gonna beat dead horses whether grandpa likes it or not.
Yet, give her 2 years and she'll transfer in.Deal's team lost to

IffyFrankly, when a recruit goes elsewhere, they totally disappear in my mind. Greenway will be an exception because of her parents. In my book, the door will always be open for her to come “home”.
Really? I didn't know she'd already signed. Who'd she commit to?Rumor here in MPLS is Greenway got 1.5 million in NIL? Anyone else hear this and is that really how much top women players are getting?
I find that hard to believe. Maybe over 4 years, starting at $200K then ramping up $100K per year. Who knows, a lot of crazy shit going on here.Rumor here in MPLS is Greenway got 1.5 million in NIL? Anyone else hear this and is that really how much top women players are getting?

Probably an exaggeration when it comes to Chad’s net worth. He made about $50-million in the NFL, before agent fees and taxes. I’m sure he invested well and is not hurting, but $50-million seems high. With Chad’s net worth likely exceeding 50 million dollars I don’t know that NIL would be a driving factor, That said I have no idea of the dynamics in the family so who knows. She said she fell in love with the environment around the Kentucky program, I tend to take that as the deciding factor.
That doesn't seem that high. I mean, half the posters on this board are worth that much or more. Just sayin'.Probably an exaggeration when it comes to Chad’s net worth. Verified with a guy that does business with Chad - high 300k per year for 4 years.I find that hard to believe. Maybe over 4 years, starting at $200K then ramping up $100K per year. Who knows, a lot of crazy shit going on here.
If Jan can add another top 10 - 20 player in the 2026 class, Hawks are going to be a challenge for years to come. That is a starter Day One. A Deal, Guyton, Stremlow, and hopefully Lewis makes me downright giddy!
Deal is special and a higher end talent than say a target like Lewis IMO. She has a fluid lanky build with great lateral movement and quickness and is very smooth operating in traffic. Throw in great shooting range. Plus putting up numbers going against elite competition. We are blessed to have her and need to continue to land similar talent if we want to be regular members of the elite club. That is a starter Day One. Where does Houston fit? She was pretty highly ranked before getting hurt? That is a starter Day One. A Deal, Guyton, Stremlow, and hopefully Lewis makes me downright giddy!
Houston is a 3 and a 4 if/when we'd go small ball / with a 4-out lineup. She doesn't have the handles to play the 1 or 2 spot as I understand it.Where does Houston fit? She was pretty highly ranked before getting hurt?
Might have a higher upside than Heiden.Another MVP Award (Layla Hays)
Doc Larson Roundball Classic MVP

I really like Heiden's athletism. She is very quick in the post. I think her and Hays will be a solid one-two punch.Might have a higher upside than Heiden.
Well, the competition in that video was pretty weak, but it sure looked to me like Hays already has very strong footwork and post skills.Based on?
Really hard to get a handle on Hays and the 2025 posts. HoopGurlz regards the ‘25 post group, with Hays ranking 2nd, as the worst in a long time, probably the worst in the history of HoopGurlz, going back to 2006, I think. Usually the 2nd rated post is a top 20 or so recruit. Hays is rated 70, which suggests a lot of skepticism about her upside. Hope she over performs her rating.Well, the competition in that video was pretty weak, but it sure looked to me like Hays already has very strong footwork and post skills.
That’s the question. There is a pretty strong sentiment among people who have seen her play that she doesn’t really have a natural position at the college level, barring a huge improvement in shooting the ball.Where does Houston fit?. . .

Lisa and Jan have had some pretty good centers over the years that developed that were not highly regarded. I think Heiden and Hays will do just fine over the next several years.
