I'm going to be taking my nephew to a game this year and want to have the tickets prior to leaving DM. Normally for an early season game I would just risk it and see how cheap I could get them at the stadium but I want to be able to focus on him and his day and not have any worries. My only experience with stub hub was buying Iowa VS OSU tickets 2010 and I WAY over paid preseason compared to what I could have bought them for that day. Any advice? TIA.

There should be plenty of single game tickets for sale through the university at some point. If you go the stubhub route wait until season tickets are distributed and the prices should level out a little bit.

General public single game ticket orders will be accepted beginning July 16. Buy them from the University.

Sept. 1 Northern Illinois $50
Sept. 8 Iowa State $95
Sept. 15 Northern Iowa $50
Sept. 22 Wisconsin $95
Oct. 20 Maryland $65
Nov. 10 Northwestern $65
Nov. 23 Nebraska $75

Thank you. Glad I asked. Stub hub has 65-70 dollar tickets (NIU, UNI) but then charges 20 bucks each for a handling fee. At that rate I would rather take him to Wisconsin.

I like Vividseats.com, but yes, the damn handling fee is a joke.

I'd invite you to tailgate with us, but Mrs. Herk is totally freaked out by your avatar. ;)

Northern Illinois and UNI you can probably scalp for below listed price.

I'll always remember my dad teaching me how to haggle with scalpers. I feel it's a valuable life lesson that adds to the game day experience.

I didn’t think they sold single game ISU tickets. That’s good to know. I have a friend flying out with me. His first ever Iowa/Kinnick experience!

You can go to any game (unless Iowa gets on a roll winning wise) and easily, I mean easily scalp them on the street and pick where you want to sit.

If you live in DM, try Craigslist. Some will sell under face value and nay include parking pass if they are season ticket holders. And better seats than buying single game.

The first game they’ll have kids tickets for $15 thru the University, adults aren’t much more. Get seats high up in the South Endzone. The Jumbotron will provide shade all game, as it’s usually hot the first game. Just be prepared for the loud music blasting from behind.

NO! DON’T DO IT!

Since we are talking tickets, I am selling my 2 season ticket seats for the N Illinois game. Press box side , South end 20 yard line, 36 rows up with seat backs,. Will be at the West Virginia - Tennessee game in Charlotte, N Carolina, $150 for the pair.

If 18 or under or can pass for said age range, wait and see what games are "youth" games and save some cash. Youth ticket should be $25 and you can get a seat for normal price right with him. There will be tickets for sale through Iowa office except for maybe ISU and Wisconsin. Those will sell quickly or to those season ticket holders who get first crack.
