Is This Team Tiring?

Did anyone remember Connor saying that Sunday against Illinois was the toughest B1G game he's ever been apart of?

Because I do...

Do you seriously move to extremes every single day?

You are either "We are going to a national title" to "Our team is tanking".

WtH?

You really have to question that tonight. If so it is concerning. Iowa is far from an NCAA lock, and with our schedule a tired team is concerning.

I think it's possible they were tired last night, and it's understandable. For example, in the previous 5 games CJ averaged 36.4 minutes. To put this in perspective, if he were in the NBA that would rank him 4th in the entire league. I know he's young and the NBA season is much longer and they play more frequently, but still, that's a lot of minutes, especially when you play really hard at both ends of the floor.

About the only good thing about last night's blowout is that the bench got a lot of minutes while the starters sat out and rested much of the 2nd half.

I know the OP is trolling, but unfortunately I think he's right, and I'm not overreacting to one game. We have had some incredibly intense games, in which we have played our asses off. Michigan was an up and down close game all the way through, actually down 10 I believe pretty late in the 2nd half. The Wisconsin game went down to the wire and of course we all know how tough the Illinois game was. Besides the late run in the Wisconsin game from Joe T, and the Illinois game where Conor hit the 3 3's, we are only getting scoring from 3 guys and absolutely nothing but minutes from the rest of the group. I know Conor has the great assist to turnover ratio, but he's made what, 3-4 baskets in the last 5 games? Teams aren't even guarding Joe T, Evelyn and Pemsl right now. Our only effective bench player is Kreiner and he seems to be running on fumes as well. I never thought I'd say this, but the energy of the crowd (yes, energy of the crowd) with the sellouts is going to be crucial. Can't afford any home losses and get to 11-9 and hopefully regroup. At some point we kind of knew we might be in a little bit of trouble w/out Patrick, Nunge and JBo. Still think 11-9 and maybe 12-8 w/some luck gets us to a 5-6 seed.

If Iowa losses 3 out of 4 or something (obviously not going to lose to Nebraska no matter how tired) then you can ask this question as a possible reason for a small pattern.

You literally cant determine any pattern based on one game when there are thousands of possible variables which is what makes it such an idiotic question.

Color commentator: They picked the wrong guy to foul. He's shooting over 99.9% from the line and hasn't missed a free throw in the last 73 games. No way he's going to miss one here.

Best free throw shooter in history: Clang

This is true. The big wins vs good teams Joe T and/or Kriener and/or Connor has made just enough shots to account for teams focusing on Luka, Weez, and CJ.

Lol tonight I was begging Pemsl to shoot the three. I’m like why not, maybe you’ll make a few and by some miracle you’ll sustain confidence through February and into March. My god if Iowa had a 4 off the bench who could make a three once in a while, holy shit.

I know Pemsl is a lightning rod and it drives me crazy how people ridicule him, but it kind of pisses me off that Fran didn’t basically insist that he develop confidence to shoot the stand still, ball rotates to you, wide open three. It’s the one weapon a broken, old man body can wield. Cordell has a fundamentally sound shot, nice release, made threes in high school. Shoot the fûcking ball so teams will at least consider coming out to you!

Joe T and Evelyn and Kriener all cold now for weeks. Sure hope that cycles back to making some again.
Have you been watching any of the games Pemsl has played in. Do not shoot the three. I repeat, Do not shoot the three. The ball might be an air ball or even worse miss the back board. JMO

I think you need to more carefully read my post.

Iowa could lose out and could still make the case that they are still in the tourney with their 10 quad 1 & 2 wins. Tied for 1st with Baylor. Obviously they won't lose out though.
