Is Vance “out”?

Who cares, Whiskey?

I have been negative about her forever. I wanted Biden to step aside but was hoping for someone other than Harris. Didn’t get what I was hoping for.

None of that matters now. Anyone but Trump. Not sure why this is a difficult concept.

This isn’t a case where the GOP has a stellar candidate and Dems are voting against him (or her) because party. Trump is a POS in mental decline who should never again occupy the office.
I respect that, it's honest.

ya gotta admit the 'yay kammie" crowd that have post about how she makes dust mites look intelligent are ****in simps though.

This exactly.

I caucused for Pete Buttigeg and still think he's the sharpest of the potential Democrat POTUS candidates.

But he's a non-starter with the weird name and the fact he's a married gay dude. America isn't ready for that.

I had the chance to actually cover Biden when he was in the primary against Hillary - found him to be a boring blowhard who talked too much and loved himself, but he was still MASSIVELY better than the rapist criminal conman.

Regarding Harris - didn't think America was ready for a black female POTUS candidate and did note she had weaknesses as a candidate despite being super smart.

But again, MUCH EASIER to vote for than a serial lying anti-democracy moron like Trump.

So here we are. Get out and vote and prevent a criminal rapist from living in the White House.

I started coming here a very long time ago to get away from the insanity on the FSU board. It wasn't political insanity, just overall insanity.

I came here these days because I see people with a perspective I would never come up with on my own. Since the board is roughly 2/3 left, I am a bit more amazed at what they see.

When it comes to Vance, I see general criticism posted the most, nothing really very tangible.

So, Joel, how exactly is Vance a disappointment to you? You understand he wasn't picked to sway someone as far left as you are, or any other team Blue person. When left leaners talk about the mistakes the right makes, they are doing so from a position of not understanding the other side. It's not much different than the US trying to set up democracies in parts of the world that prefer dictators.

Solid WPOTY contest this year. Gonna be a nailbiter between you, Here4aday, and Rico, but I think you're the leader of the dumb ass brigade at this point in the race.

I'll give you some tangibles - the guy is a phony and a fake.

He is a social chamelon and striver who changed his name out of shame.

He is a flip-flopper who called Trump an "American Hitler" and claimed he didn't vote for him - and now he is a sycophantic ballgargler for the raping convicted criminal.

The democratic party who has a sign up "No Jews need apply" passed on a sure thing in Shapiro to go with stolen valor, BLM supporting, and a honeymoons in China, Marxist, Walz 😅😂🤣
It makes zero political sense for them to pass on Shapiro other than wanting to pander to their pro-Hamas part of the party. Zero.

Then they did him extra dirty by announcing Walz as the running mate in Pennsylvania.

Given his enthusiasm at that rally, I'm guessing he was promised a position in a Harris administration.

If he delivers Pennsylvania and Walz delivers Michigan and Wisconsin, it was genius.

What's hilarious is the Radical Right saying they wanted Shapiro a week ago and now the narrative has changed that they're glad Walz was chosen.

Shapiro was by far their best option of those that didn't want to waste their political capital (Whitmer/Newsome).

And yet they have not changed policy at all regarding the genocide in Palestine. No mention of a two state solution or cease fire. So... pandering how, exactly? Because you desperately want that to be the narrative?

Exactly this. I was really hoping Biden would step down many weeks before he did to give the party a chance to find the best candidate. Part of me thinks he hung on as long as he did to force it to Kamala - who I thought was a weak candidate in 2020 and a word-salad VP.

But I have to say she has done a helluva lot better in the last few weeks than I thought possible. And in the end it does not matter as I am anyone but Trump. I do hope she continues her path to moderating her positions.

Yeah, those are real tangibles. ::sarcasm::

I changed my name when I was 18. I took the name of my stepfather, who came into my life when I was a teenager, and had the greatest influence on me. My natural father was in the Marine Corps. He did 3 tours in Vietnam, and in between he was always somewhere his family wasn't. He abandoned us when I was 9. My memory of him was making me into a little, squared away Marine. JD changed his name for a similar reason, because it connected him to the person that cared about him.

As for Trump, JD has explained that. What you call a flip flop is someone who's said they made a misjudgment, looked at policies, and formed a new opinion. Perhaps JD is wrong now, but I'd rather listen to someone who has at least given it some thought than other people who are completely driven by partisan talking points and refuse to be objective.

Then do Jewish governors by party!
How many Jew hating supporters do the dems have.? What party had to pass up a much more qualified and beneficial governor from a swing state because their base hates Jews?

You call it being objective. I call it being an opportunist. He felt he had to go MAGA to get ahead so go MAGA he did.

I’m not casting stones on Vance only by the way, all politicians do this. Kamala is doing something similar (albeit to a much much much smaller degree) in taking a a more moderate stance for the general election. i hope she governs that way, but time will tell.

That and he had to follow his orders from Thiel and the other multi-million dollar backers. He's a fraud.

Harris has no clue about what to do. She will be a puppet in the same fashion as Biden. Asked about how she would solve inflation, she did 3 circles of word salad trying to explain what inflation is, and how inflation hurts someone, then finally said it would be a priority. She has no clue. Walz is worse.

I am getting really tired of politicians who are less than what they seem to be. This crowd is everywhere.

Vivek was the obvious choice ... but he had been around awhile, so the Trump campaign must have had a fairly thorough idea of what kind of crap was going to be thrown his way. He was/is so damned articulate and could run circles around reporters. He might be a little much for Trump to manage even though he seems to stay in his "Lane" as they say.

Pompeo, Mnuchin ... or even Lindsey Graham? ... Graham is great at pretending that he is an insider when he is not, and does not even seem to suffer embarrassment when that is exposed. He seems tough enough to take the hits and loves being on Television. He does indeed outshine Eric and Don Jr by a fairly wide margin.

However, Vance is a perfect fit culturally ... coming from that old, rich Scots/Irish, Daniel Boone, Stonewall Jackson, Credence Clearwater heritage. ... although I doubt that any of his ancestors ever shot any Indians ... or even owned bunches of slaves (Like Kamala's). He balances his background nicely by having married a real Indian.

He needs to develop a little more of a Raylon Givens Eastern Kentucky persona though. Raylon is tough, has a little swagger and the girlies seem to absolutely adore him. (That would take care of the Republican "women voter" problem.)

What is Trump and Vance applying your standards used here?
