ISU hurting our SOS + Rhoads comments = Time to abandon ISU

Folks, it is as simple as this. Do you want to back into the national spotlight by playing a weak non con schedule & hope that the B10 crossover games give us another gift (like this year....& quit bringing up Pitt as this were pounded by 3 TD's in their bowl game after a mediocre season). Or...do you want to prove it on the field via head to head matchups. I'd far rather play someone strong in the preseason or even two tough games as at least we played the game. I'm tired of the national media throwing out the schedule thing when it comes to Iowa. They are correct in what they are saying although we'll never know if we were actually good enough...you cannot base it off of one game "in conference" either. Play the best....be the best & let the chips fall where they do. Quit "scheduling" a winner & actually be a winner.

Good debate....with a 9 team conference schedule I still fall on the side of playing the game but only once every 3 to 4 years. Playing it every year takes out a bit of the variety you can bring to a schedule with other P5 teams which, selfishly speaking, is much more fun to me. I do like our school and fan base to get more exposure to other parts of the country for potential recruiting purposes and just adding a little more excitement to the schedule. Seems like when we have another P5 school in town the atmosphere is pretty electric and going to their house is a great experience for the team and fans as well. Who knows, maybe just having it every 3 to 4 years makes it more meaningful and special.
