Only an Iowa fan would bring up a loss from 14 years ago - just another example of their jealousy of ISU basketball. Two great wins in conference tournament - meanwhile Iowa can't beat a 13 seed. Love it! Rising!

Hawkeyes definitely dominate the state of Iowa, no matter the records. Not sure what ISU can do to overcome that.
I'm not sure how IOWA wins when they lose to ISU in football AND basketball.....

Easy now, Rocky Mountain Oyster, the Clones have pretty much stuck it to the Hawks in FB & BB in the world of "What Have You Done Lately?" Smaller budget and bad football, and they still de-feather the Hawks. Sometimes, we just gotta take off the black & yeller glasses and look at the world of reality. Kirkfrenz and Franatic just ain't cuttin' it.

It's always been clear of who the first thought in this state is. Nothing - absolutely nothing - can change the national perception of ISU compared to Iowa. Look at how ESPN views them. This is their glory month.
Iowa has a whole year of sports to enjoy. Might not be what Iowa fans view as huge success, but think of what ISU has to suffer with in football, wrestling, baseball. Basketball is their fun time, let them enjoy the few months.

And yet the Cy-Hawk trophy, which goes to the school that does better in ALL sports, will be safely in Ames for the second straight year.
"Does BETTER in all sports"???? Ummm, no. Wins head to head. You honestly believe ISU had a "better" fball season or wrestling season? They may have won more head to head with Iowa but there's not much arguing who had more overall success. By your measure, Rutgers had a "better" basketball season than Wisconsin.

Overall success, yes. Win your head to heads & sit at home at seasons end. I know which is better. That's exactly why the country has no idea who you are, and it will never change as long as Iowa resides in the Hawkeye state.

If Iowa State fans want to quit being seen as little brother, they need to stop running to this board after everything victory. It's just plain bizarre. I had to go actually look up the cyhawk series to see what was involved, because nobody cares about that except for Iowa State fans. We are tied 6 to 6 with softball to go. Safely probably isn't the right word. In no way shape or form is this an accurate description of either athletic program. Especially when we can't even beat your guys ass and baseball because you dropped your program. Congrats on the wins in cross country, that must make you feel awesome. Meanwhile I'll take Iowa better in four of the five sports I even care about.

Iowa State has a better tean than Iowa does this year...its that simple. There can be no disputing that. That doesn't mean we couldn't beat them if we played them again. And it doesn't mean they will go further in the NCAA than we will. And it doesn't mean that ISU is the most popular team in the state now either. The Cyclones are a better team in 2015 than Iowa and they have accomplished more than the Hawks - I can live with that...for now.
Get off the pipe rock. There is a direct correlation between University athletic success and student enrollment growth for in state students. No doubt the University of Iowa is more popular in Naperville, Illinois.
I haven't been over here for a while- came over for a good chuckle today while I count down the minutes to another title game. Enjoy the show tonight Hawk fans.
The facts are Iowa State has hired a wunderkind basketball coach who has had a really nice run for 2 years and Iowa is building their program with 3 consecutive 20 win seasons. ISU basketball still has some catching up to do historically.

And for football historically the Cyclones are the worst program in the history of D-1 college football and Iowa has had a solid program for almost 40 years. Iowa has inexplicably lost to the worst college football team even under the KF tenure more often than not, good for ISU. Then ISU continues to measure up to their own pathetic abilities while Iowa pursues bowl games.
As for wrestling, not worth going there.
But hey enjoy your little run with BB, it doesn't happen often for you guys in sports! You are overdue!

So I'm flipping through the channels and catch the pregame on ESPN 2 for the ISU game. Lo and behold ESPN has the Tigerhawk logo proudly emblazoned on the screen. Even ESPN associates the Hawkeye's with anything Iowa. Must suck for ISU to be an afterthought on every level.
