I can now say I’ve been to the hottest and coldest ever games in Kinnick Stadium history. One of the most electric atmospheres, maybe because it was all the hardcores. I was right behind the Nebraska bench and I have never seen an opposing team act so cocky all game like last night. It was CONSTANT first down pointing at fans, trash talking, clapping in faces, getting in faces, jumping all around after plays. It was like the ‘Canes at their worst. Made it all so sweet! Maybe it was the unexpectedness of the victory, or the boisterousness of Nebraska fans, but I haven’t seen Hawkeye fans that festive after a game in a long time. Maybe since the game winning FG in 2008 vs Penn State to send us to New Year’s Day and knocking them from going to the national championship game. Fans were chanting “Let’s Go Hawks”, lighting fireworks, the students breaking out into songs from Wicked (yes), all during our walk down Melrose to the lots and side streets.
That's the height of obnoxiousness
I wish I could unsee this.
