To a portion of the Iowa fanbase, their Kirk Ferentz loyalty is very Trump/MAGA-like.
Prove me wrong.
Bring up very valid points about what KF fails at as a coach, and defenders will try to shout it down by going on about such-and-such team being not very good or haven't done this or that in x-amount of years. Like it has even the vaguest amount of relevance to KF's troubles or failures. Or my favorite; he isn't out on the field or calling the plays, blame everything on the players or assistant coaches instead.

I get Ohio State. We can’t compete with a $20 million annual budget. I even, kinda, sorta get the gut punch that was Iowa State. In state rivalry, QB still getting back from injury, new OC.
But we are many games into the season and got our asses handed to us by a Michigan State team with a questionable O-Line. Absolutely manhandled by a team that on paper we should have beaten pretty easily. That I don’t get. Our defense forced zero punts, our QB couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn and we ran into a stacked box the entire first half.
Complete fail in two out of three phases. Pinstripe bowl here we come.

If only Kirk felt the same way about his choosing to stay on and keep ruining the program, just to continue cashing those checks.

You want to really know how fast this guy is out of the gates? The NFL record is 4.21.
As a guy sitting near me at the game said…I don’t care if he can catch, he would stretch the field - put him in pads.
I wouldn't say great, as Iowa was expected to be good. That one-point loss to ISU hurts.
