Izzo is a big baby

I don't disagree with you on the second point but izzo runs circles around Fran from a coaching perspective. I'll buy you glasses if you can't set that

The Hawks having the best OER in the B1G must be just pure luck, eh?

Agree. I was kind of happy with ESPN for a change. They were calling Izzo out and showing replay after replay of him acting like an enraged lunatic for no reason.

Much better than the normal nut hugging they do while talking about Izzo, while simultaneously ripping on Fran for his demeanor.
He's been called out before on ESPN. I remember about 6 or 7 years ago they had a game go into overtime. Of course Iowa lost after everything starting getting lucky for the leprechaun. I THINK it was Appling but I could be wrong. He picked up his dribble about a step after half court on a fast break and anticipated contact that didn't actually happen. Got a couple 'euro-steps' and led to an easy bucket. Fran came unglued and of course got a technical for 'leaving the coaches box.'. Izzo ran out on the court two possessions later yelling and Jay Bilas literally pointed out that he was outside the coaches box which, we had just seen as the justification for the technical on Fran, and questioned why coach Izzo wasn't getting the same treatment.

And of course we know how that played out, and that was a home game for Iowa. But whatever, I don't even care anymore. Keep letting Izzo be the head ref and control the action. This brand of push of shove Midwestern basketball has been working out great for the Big Ten come tournament time when games are kept under control. It's just been a plethora of championships for the Big Ten the last 30 years. EDIT: thought Kansas actually won a few more than they did in that span. 2 championships in 30 years for conferences in the same footprint that consistently use the same crews all season.

After hearing the little prick whine about the "touch fouls" on Tillman in the first half, I knew that the second half was going to be a mugathon. I think Tillman is probably the best interior defender in the B1G, but there were probably dozens of fouls uncalled in the second half, especially contact on Luka, but also on the perimeter. MSU fans will argue that Iowa got into the bonus first in the second half, but Izzo is a master of wearing out the officials to the point where they only call a fraction of the non-stop crap. Not unexpected...

The Big 10 has embarrassing allowed Izzo to have his way with the league during his time. You are right, a bully. And sometimes bullies win.

You hit a certain age in life and you no longer fall under the "bully" tab. You slide right into the asshole tab.

That call (and yes it was Appling) was the worst non travel call I have ever seen. Go out to a regulation court and imagine getting to the rim for a lay up with ONE dribble.
