*****January 6th committee public hearings thread*****UPDATE: Transcripts released

I don't know quite how to politely respond to this.

Your characterization of the GA call:

"we only need 11k votes, you know where to find those right? Dont come back until you found 11k votes"

is pretty spot on except for "dont come back part" (instead, told Raffensperber that he could be criminally prosecuted unless he acts to find votes).

The exact quote is:

"So look, all I want to do is this. I just want to find 11780 votes, which is one more than we have because we won the state"

So, you don't consider Trump's demand to "find votes", coupled with the a threat of criiminal prosecution if he doesn't, to be illegal election interference?
Where was the legal prosecution? He told the guy using illegal votes is illegal, he never said anything regarding him not having thr votes being illegal.

Sorry bud, you have dug yourself into a hole and are defending the indefensible.

I'll tell you what we are on the brink of here boys, we are on the brink of Adam Schiff looking like an imbecile again. 17 months, a blank check, and you came with public tweets and public rallies that have to be taken in partial.context to give you even a foothold.

I believe it was a Arizona law. It had never been enacted and quite frankly wasn't designed to be used as Rudy was asking him to use it if the way he explained it was correct. It is however a law.

A law never enacted. Never designed to be used as Hair Dye wanted to use it.

I heard the Speaker of the House of the Arizona testimony's today and for some reason I trust his knowledge and intelligence more than any Republican piece of shit

FWIW, I’ve said the whole time that nothing will happen. Not because Trump isn’t a traitor or isn’t culpable. But because he’s never a consequence in his life.

You and I will just agree to disagree on this one.
I have said this many, many times. Trump had sh***y parents. They created this narcissistic mob boss POS. If they hadn't been emotionally distant drunks maybe he never turned out that way.

That would get laughed out of court. If they want to get him with something that has a chance to stick it has to be regarding the amount of time he fought after clear evidence was shown he had lost.
Senate conviction is not a judiciary proceeding. You are conflating proceedings. He personally tried to overturn certified votes in AZ and GA. Ronnie Johnson tried to strike a list of fake electorates into Pence’s hand as his direction (although Johnson claims the package just mysteriously appeared and he didn’t know what it was).

You are correct, I was thinking you were talking about court.

He tried, via Rudy G, to use a super obscure law to replace electorates in AZ. In Georgia he tried to say they were in a bag and illegal votes and shouldn't be counted. This has already gone to court.

Agreed.

This is what I'm saying though, Trump is a butt****, but he operates like a mob boss. If you are going to go at him you can't miss and just like a mob boss there is a disconnect between the top and who says what to who. Even if we can all.persume it was at his direction you have a major crime accusation, you need hard proof. Adam Schiff, doesn't have hard proof. I thought the asking for 11k votes was going to be the smoking gun, it wasn't.

While I would like to see Trump prosecuted, I do not believe that this has to be the end goal. We just need enough people to stop supporting him and send him on his way. It is a victory for all of us if he goes somewhere to quietly live out the rest of his life. Spending it in prison is a bonus, but not a requirement. He would probably end up in some country club prison where we would be all be required to support him anyway.

Trump needs to go away, 100%.

Skepticism is healthy ("prove it"). Blind allegiance and reflexive defense of the indefensible is not, espcially in light of everwhelming evidence ("so what", they are lying" or any variation of indfference or denial)

This atitude represents the potential land mine awaiting prosecutors putting Donald Trump on trial before a jury. The evidence may be overwhelming and the arguments for conviction exceptionally strong but one juror can violate his/her oath and simply ignore or deny all of it and vote to acquit.

...speaking of oaths, is there any poster here who would not agree that Donald Trump failed to updhold his sworn oath to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States"?
He took an even greater oath to protect America from SOCIALIST DIMS that want to DESTROY our great country with caravans of ILLEGALS!!
HILLARY!!! HUNTER!!!

It’s pretty clear that the Senate should have convicted Trump and the Senators were cowards. Ronnie Johnson should be expelled. Meadows should never be elected in whatever future district he will fraudulently claim to be a resident
Meadows is one of the few people that Trump hasn't turned on, or just discarded. The more we learn doubt the insurrection, the more it becomes obvious why Trump has kept him on the payroll. Trump doesn't want Meadows talking.
