Understand, but he still had to have the skill to obtain these records. You ever watch his workout routines? And it's not his fault Ronnie got hurt or that Uthoff lost a season due to the grinch. Many of his records were set with just a slight advantage based on games played and now he is just adding to them. He's an Iowa kid playing for the Hawkeyes (something his brothers chose not to do) and I just think he should be commended. No one, except perhaps himself, saw him being in this position when he signed his LOI. Many saw him as a fall back recruit and his signing was absolutely mocked on CyFan. I'm just happy he chose to be a Hawkeye and hope the remainder of the season pays off for all of us, fans, players and coaches.Cmon Ron. Not attacking the kid. Just think its worth mentioning as he climbs over guys who have played 40 less and more games. I think thats only fair to keep some context. When he's done he'll be at almost 180 GAMES played compared to a lot of guys on the list in the 120's. Hell Ronnie Lester at 99 games and Uthoff at 100. So he'll have played 80 MORE games. Thats 2 and a half more FULL seasons! Thats certainly noteworthy to the conversation. He's had a great career no doubt, but that doesn't eliminate the context under which he achieved those numbers either, and I don't see how thats picking on him at all.
I'm glad he chose to be a Hawk as well, and obviously his name will be a part of the teams history. I fully realize its "not his fault" others were injured. This is just a discussion that goes on in ALL sports. Baseballs home run records, the NFL where they play at least three more games every year, the NBA. Its just part of the discussion, and when someone plays 180 games compared to others playing around 100 games I think its fair to at least acknowledge that.Understand, but he still had to have the skill to obtain these records. It was a great game and he's had a great career at Iowa even with his struggles, but Curry accumulated his numbers in 3 years which is amazing as well.Passed Curry. My goodness.
