Jimmy Buffet has died

Still8hunlv, that you so much for sharing that. Damn, I teared up again. I listened to Bubbles Up a bit ago and it kicked my ass. I am with so many of you that this has kicked my ass. Jimmy has been a way of life and an escape for over 40 years for me. While heading to radiation treatment, I used to sing to Growing older and not up and emphasize, I'd rather die while I'm living than live while I'm dead. It is crazy what can help us get through bad times. Thankfully we can listen to his music and remember the great times we had at his concerts, listening to his music with friends, or just relaxing and singing along to Jimmy. Phins up!!
I hear ya!

Would have LOVED to have seen him in Key West or Hawaii though! Red Rocks was one I had on my radar a few times and never quite pulled the trigger, I regret that now.

I made it to the Red Rocks show in October of 2016. Such a great venue. No lines to get a beer or hit the head. It was the only time I splurged for 3rd row center seats to be up close once. Was awesome to be about 30 feet from Jimmy the whole concert. Now I watch the Red Rocks schedule every year to look for other shows to catch.

I have never been a Buffet guy.... but my Mom is and when she came to KC one year, He happened to be performing in town and I took her. Our relationship is strained but I enjoyed being able to take her to that concert.

We were at that show as well. Then we flew to Vegas the next day to catch him there. Helluva weekend!

Thanks for sharing this. Although I wish I didn't watch it right before having to be on a zoom meeting. May have to keep the camera off for a bit.
Radio Margaritaville is starting to play some tributes that other artists have done during their shows. Just heard Dave Matthews do Pirate Looks at 40 and I think someone started cutting onions in my office. I don't even like DMB. Pretty damn cool how many others are paying tribute to the King of Somewhere Hot.

I love that they have been playing some deep tracks in tribute too. Lots of songs I haven’t heard in years.

Now spinning:

Sorry it took so long to reply to this thread, I was looking for my lost shaker of salt. I spent a while trying to find some woman to blame, but then I took responsibility and admitted it was probably my own damned fault.

R.I.P. Jimmy Buffet

Jimmy Buffett Will Keep the Party Going With Final Album ‘Equal Strain on All Parts’

The posthumous set, scheduled to arrive later this fall, features collabs between the "Margaritaville" singer & Paul McCartney, among other friends.

Jimmy Buffett

As fans continue to mourn the loss of Jimmy Buffett, the “Margaritaville” singer is leaving one last gift in the form of a new album. Buffett, who was signed to Sun Records before his death on Sept. 1, will have his final album, Equal Strain on All Parts, released later this year on Nov. 3.

A press release for the album reveals that Equal Strain on All Parts was recorded this year and was co-produced by Coral Reefers, Michael Utley and Mac McAnally. The album contains a total of 14 tracks and includes features from Emmylou Harris, Lennie Gallant, Angelique Kidjo, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Paul McCartney — the latter of whom remarked on two of the album’s tracks, “Bubbles Up” and “My Gummie Just Kicked In” (both released on Friday, Sept. 8) in his Sept. 2 tribute message to Buffett.

Those two new songs feel like classic Buffett too.

The new album Equal Strain on All Parts is officially out today. There's a new Bubbles Up video out there and there is a tribute planned at the CMA award show next week.

We are also going to the ZBB show tomorrow night and it looks like he has been doing a tribute at each show. There's gonna be some drunken tears shed the next few days for sure.

So I really have not been on a Buffett kick at all lately, I've gotten hooked into some jam bands. Those jam bands led me to start a trial of nugs.net. I then realized this service has a few dozen Buffett concert videos available to stream. I've been watching one tonight and having a lot of fun, figured I'd share my discovery.

He's not getting inducted, he's receiving a "special award"

Kinda like a leg lamp....R&R HOF just riding his coattails knowing this will increase viewership

Jimmy Buffett is set to receive a special award from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2024. The Hall of Fame is honoring the late pop, rock and sometimes country singer with the Musical Excellence Award

CSB, the wife and I went on a whale watching excursion out of Depoe Bay, OR, today and our boat was used as a tender to get to and from Buffet’s yacht. The Kida Girl is a 26 foot Zodiac captained today by a retired Coast Guardsmen named Joe. Think Trad, but funny and informative. He kept us parallel to a few whales for an hour.
I kept thinking during the tour if Jimmy’s butt and my butt had been in the same seat?
