What's the story with his recruiting? He would fit nicely at 133. Any idea if the Hawks are in the running?

We need to recruit this kid. He is a perfect sized 133.

Everything I've heard about him through my FL contacts has been "the work ethic on this kid is unreal. Nobody out works him, nobody." "He's so competitive, he just has to win at everything."

Then you watch him wrestle and he has that Iowa style we look for. He attacks relentlessly, is in phenomenal shape, very good athlete, and jumping levels all the time. I think he's a kid we get at 133 and have him go as a true freshman. He's that good and he will push Spencer in the room hard. Far better than Teske, who I'd like to get as well. And he'd beat Teasdale if they wrestled now.

This kid really impressed me in his match against Spencer, I think TnT would at least kick the tires to see if there's any interest on his part.

It is a huge stretch to think he'd beat Teasdale now and definitely questionable whether he'd beat Teske. He was stuck by Keaton Geerts last summer.

Not a stretch at all. The kid has jumped levels. In the last year he has won the Journeyman Fall Classic, Super 32, and placed second at ironman to Spencer Lee. Beat Austin DeSanto, Jordan Dacatur (kid that beat Teasdale), Real Woods...and has wrestled and beaten several other ranked kids along the way. Has better folkstyle wins than any current Iowa wrestler

I think Silvia is very good and would make a great hawk. I was really impressed with him in the Ironman finals. We shall see how things shake out this summer. Just don't think he's better than Teasdale right now.

Brooks got stuck by Dudley but I think at worst they are even and I think Brooks win 6-7 out of ten. I didnt see the match ,was he getting dominated by Geerts?

Dudley is a slightly bad matchup for Brooks, a little more horsepower IMO. I don't think Dudley is better, just think he is slightly better head to head from a matchup perspective for whatever the reason.

I did recall Sammy getting stuck twice by Dudley, then decided to look up their careers against each other. From what I found, appears Sammy was 2-3 against Dudley overall, and 2 of those losses at NCAA's (one of which Sammy got screwed IIRC). So yeah, they are pretty evenly matched.

Sammy Brooks had an outstanding Senior year IMO (28-4). He didn't do a lot of the head-scratchers he was kind of known for in previous years. Lot of great wins. He did a really nice job.

Word around the campfire is that he was asked by a happy place not to commit to anyone for a while. Kid is tough, mean and technically rock solid.

Yikes Bruno and Hall. They must not teach getting out from bottom in Florida.

Bono, Frayer, Gomez, Sentes, hetswinkle(ms), Grajalas. Obe Blank, Hatchet, Lambrecht,Loupanchanski,Patacsil,Buckley.

Florida may not be deep but they do have quality.

The state is getting drastically better as a whole.

And I hope he doesn't go to Penn State...they would just be cheating at that point.

You are correct. Sammy got screwed last year against Dudley. I was told Sammy was in great position to get the TD against Dudley this year when his knee gave out. I missed it on ESPN but had friends in the arena. Hopefully he doesn't need surgery and can hit the freestyle circuit. He will be a touch match up.

No, it is true. Silva did become better than Teasdale. It happened just last week. ;)
I think I've only seen two people say that. I'd pick Teasdale, but think it would be a very close match, and wouldn't be surprised to see Silva win.

Silva is a shit ton bigger than both Lee and Teasdale. Wrestling 138 today which is probably what he walks around at. Got on Flo and saw that he was losing 7-6...Turns out, they had the score screwed up big time...it was 6-2 and he ended up breaking the guy in the third 22-8. I thought if Lee was going to be knocked off, it would have been Silva to do it...not at PA States. Spencer was in control the whole time but Silva got to his legs a lot IIRC. Would like to see Teasdale and Silva plus RBY vs Teasdale again...which we might see at Juniors.

Seems to have a little interest in tOSU as well. We need to be circling the wagons and show some interest. Unless we already have and were told not to bother.

Chief is on point though, Silva much bigger than Lee or Tesdale at this point. Just a whole different body type - hes got a lot of horsepower over most kids.

That said it doesn't look like he'll get much bigger - but I could be way off.

Was matside at Journeyman for his match with Woods and was perfect example of why you have to take offseason results with a grain of salt. At one time they may be, but at that time they were kids from different weight classes, different levels of strength. Would be interested to see what that match looks like a few years from now if they end up competing at the same weight. I thought Woods looked like the better "wrestler' but Im not a D1 coach.

Silva matched up well with Spencer because he is one of the few kids that can match up with Spencers power at the HS level. Spencer is just a freak that way and overwhelms even elite kids. Of course he is elite technically also and Silva really didnt have a shot to beat him, only challenge him.
