No. They began with freestyle. The draws were kind of tough this year.

Russia is crazy good. They are probably thinking that 4 champs should have won it.

That shows you how insanely talented Russia is on a year to year basis at all age levels. We have possibly our best junior team ever and win the team race by one point. I'm just hoping this is a sign of the tide turning as opposed to a flash in the pan. Either way I'm going to enjoy this win while I can.

Russia actually placed higher than we did in 5 out of 8 weight classes, hence the close score even with our stellar results.

not sure on how that has played out for Iran and Aze over the years. This year, Aze was 7th with a champ, two 3rds, 7th, 8th, 10th, and two DNPs.
Iran was 3rd with a runner-up, three 3rds, two 5ths, a 7th, and one DNP. so not like they weren't pretty solid but again no idea how they usually fare at junior level, if these are even their best current juniors, etc.

as it did play out, tourney was dominated by two teams and the good guys won!

Severado is the guy folks dogged Cael Happel out for losing to I believe.

Bey is exactly what the US needs for Greco right now. A guy with who is very entertaining with true star potential. Our Greco team has lagged behind our Freestyle team for as long as I can remember. Hardly any of the top folkstyle wrestlers seem to even want to try Greco. It is a shame, as Greco can be very entertaining to casual fans with the big throws. And the casual fan is who wrestling needs to attract during major events like the Olympics if our sport is going to continue as an Olympic sport for the foreseeable future.
