Just another day in Dogeland..,

Nonsense, I just want everything to be above the table. You claim to want to root out fraud, then let it be legitimate agents doing the audit, not someone that half the country doesn't trust.
If you’re correct that half the country doesn’t trust them, they’ve only recently managed to replace the other half who haven’t trusted what was happening.
I prefer not to trust any of them. They have been wasting MY money.

All is fair in love and war my friend, and believe me, this is a war for our nation's salvation? WTF is "above the table" anyway? Some croquet etiquette? We're in the jungle, bitch....and it won't be dawn for hours, but let's rely on fair play to survive........

Do you think croquet is played on a table?

That notwithstanding, why are you okay with Musk being the one to root out fraud? Why him, of all people? The guy is a racist, lying, narcissistic... oh, now I get it.

His results to date speak for themselves. Would you prefer hunter biden?

What results? He's given you a bunch of bullshit. Do you really think that a couple dozen programmers with no accounting background have fully audited, what, eight government agencies in three or four weeks? It's laughable to believe that.

And WTF does Hunter Biden have to do with anything? I wouldn't trust him managing a laundry mat.

Meanwhile dems gather to ‘protest’ 😂😂😂

It will be interesting to analyze the data if it is released.
The Age Range Count data lacks meaningful context unless it is directly correlated with actual payments. Additionally, the figures presented in the graph exceed the total population of this country and significantly surpass the number of individuals who received SSA/SSI checks in 2024.

While there is certainly room for improving the efficiency of the SSA, releasing a graph without corresponding data and implying an issue exists is not particularly impactful.

We have $36T in debt, and we're finding waste and fraud, and the Dems are protesting. Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place for Dems.
Saw this post on another site which adds some perspective:

"To scale things down here, based on 2024 data I just googled:

The United States is like a household that makes $100K per year but spends ~$137K per year. We're currently about $736K in debt. Based on what has been posted on social media thus far, DOGE has saved around $40.

I actually understand the argument that given that we're $736K in debt we shouldn't be spending $40 if we can avoid it. But yes, LOL at anyone who thinks Musk is going to "save them money". What will actually save you money is when Trump cuts taxes anyway, and increases the deficit and debt like he did in his first term."

Well, we're only like a month into DOGE. I'm sure in the long run, DOGE cuts will be miniscule in the grand scheme of things. It's all about the narrative though. The average voter isn't going to understand or investigate like you have.

Republicans have a very firm hold on the narrative right now, and Dems running around protesting against it isn't a good look for them.

If given the choice between one of the smartest men in the world heading this up, or some OTHER unelected bureaucrat, I'll take one of the smartest men in the world.

The left won't trust anyone the Trump admin appoints, so their opinion simply doesn't matter. They haven't shown they can act like adults and it's time for them to sit in the corner and let the adults do the right thing.

Cold hard truth.

That isn't wrong. This savings isn't going to save anyone any significant portion, however, it will go a long way in terms of restoring trust in how the government is spending money moving forward, and will make requests for tax increases much easier to stomach if there's confidence we aren't wasting the taxes we do pay.

At this rate, the $40 (assuming that's correct) will be over $2k to that $100k household by the end of Trump's presidency. Somewhere I saw where so far they'd found over $200 per taxpayer in waste. $200 in a month matters to a large number of Americans.

Bottom line, it's necessary work, no matter how much the left wants to pretend otherwise to try to discourage it from being done.

Illegally accessing these departments and overriding the constitution will restore faith in the government? These are criminal activities. Go back and hide under your rock. it's cold out.

I hope elon musk steals the $36 you have in investments. If I harm anyone, it won't be innocent people. You, on the other hand, have already hurt innocent people by your condoning the illegal acts of the trump/musk crime syndicate.
You're unbalanced and I sincerely hope you're talking to someone who might help you. Your posts read like a manifesto of someone who is about to do something terrible. Convincing yourself one of is not the wealthiest person in the world is trying to steal from us isn't how mentally well people think.

Disagree. It's destroying trust in how our government is supposed to work. While not making any meaningful difference to the bottom line. While also burdening our support services and economy with a lot of new unemployed people.
And, don't try to pretend there will be any tax increases to pay down the debt. Trump is just going to raise the debt limit and spend more than any other previous President, further raising the debt.

One of the smartest men in the world is debatable, but even conceding that, Musk still has a history of posting racist, misogynistic, and outright crazy conspiracy theories. He's very clearly a white nationalist with his own personal enrichment at heart before anyone else's, and he views poor people as a lesser class of human. Why would you want that person rather than another smart person who isn't mentally incapable of actually thinking about the greater good over himself? Why is it that the right will only install the worst human beings in critical roles and assume that it's a zero-sum game and that there's no better option?

What people have been learning about the waste fraud and abuse in govt in recent years combined with what doge is finding is what is destroying trust in how government is supposed to work. Don't take the bait and blame those finding the problems, blame those who caused them.

The problem is if you think the ordinary mechanisms of government were going to turn the Titanic, after watching them grow the government & corresponding debt year after year, one might begin to question your sanity.

The Trump/Musk combination is exactly what is required to actually affect meaningful fiscal change. It's not ideal, but Congress has had their turn & they just keep making things worse.

The ends do not justify the means. Sorry, but no matter how inefficient you might think our government may be, it is no excuse to bypass the institutions that were designed for this role.

...also, it is not 'meaningful change'. It's performative for headlines.

Congress is infected with individuals who have learned how to accept the status quo,.. They have become comfortable approving other members bad spending initiatives, just so their bad spending initiatives will also be accepted by the herd,.. And when new faces arrive on the scene, they are immediately indoctrinated in how to approach and maintain access to the trough,... Congress cannot be trusted to do this work.

Then vote them out. That is how it works.

Says the guy coaching ILLEGALS to rob and rape America blind! Can't make this shit up!!
Yeah, if only that was true. Imagine being as degenerate as you who thinks special needs kids are illegal. You’re a special kind of dumb. Again, you’re a cautionary tale on the impacts of inbreeding.

Been doing that for years and the disease continues to infect the herd,... System needs outside intervention, followed by a culling of the most diseased members...
Sounds like you'd prefer a government other than ours.

If a Dem was doing this the GQP militias would be storming DC.

Winner. This isn’t/hasnt been just a Dem/Rep issue. They’ve both been complicit in running up the bill. And no, you don’t appoint another auditor who’s in on the grift. That’s why bringing in someone without ties to federal government teet was imperative.

They’re going to find massive amounts of waste. The real story is how is that going to be relocated? Is it going to truly pay down debt? Is it going to be to help offset the tax decreases? Or are they just going to funnel it to more pro conservative bureaucracy?

Frankly, this is exactly what I was hoping Trump would do in his first term as an outsider.

There will be no meaningful savings. These cuts aren't making a dent in the debt. You just watch how much the deficit goes up under Trump...

Yet, in 2025, only one party is fixing it while the other is obstructing the fix.
