Just started my colonoscopy prep

Did you have to specifically have to ask for the pill. Someone said there is a pill but you have to ask for it. That was after I did the procedure.
Yes, I did have to ask because they said some insurance companies don't cover it. I didn't care since they weren't expensive, but my insurance did cover everything.

It's not a bad process at all. I actually really like the gut cleanse. Feel alot better after the procedure.

You were the one suggesting you could schedule the procedure at your convenience. You weren't serious were you? 🤣
I didn't say that at his convenience. I don't know if he had the option to choose a convenient time. I also put "/lucky"

Then when I agreed with you when I said "i know, I've had 2" indicating I understand how it works, you chose to think I'm arguing with you.

I take a different route,
If I call a plumber to check my pipes, he doesn't ask me to dig the hole to get to the pipes, so why would I do all the hard work for my doctor to have a clean workspace?
Get in there and look around, if you need a better look, buy better equipment, do whatever is necessary to do your job, just don't expect me to do the job you hack.

I’m having one on Friday and start the prep tomorrow. Have to take 8 Dulcolax pills, one bottle of Miralax, and some Milk of Magnesia (but not all at once). My last colonoscopy was in 1995 and it was a truly horrible experience. I had to drink a bottle of sodium citrate (?) along with a bunch of other stuff and was pissing out of my raw ass by day 2. The doctor gave me no drugs or anything and it was terrible. To add insult to injury he said, “I didn’t see anything abnormal, but I’m scheduling you for a barium enema tomorrow morning“ so I had to go another day without eating.

I have good friend who has a family history of colon cancer with both parents and he has to get scoped every year. Said it’s a lot better now and they give you some good drugs.

Even though I’m sleeping down here, my wife is insisting on hanging out with me this evening. I’m fine with it but I told her she’s not allowed to make fun of my impending misery or the smell of the bathroom.
There isn’t a smell after about an hour. Ive had 6 of these things.

The drink was by far the worst. If you can do a pill ask about it as been discussed in this thread.
Given my awful family history, it wouldn’t surprise me if I have to get scoped every 5 years instead of 10. So that’s helpful for the future.

Ripe old age of 33 (preventative - bad family history)

Just drank the first bottle of swill and now waiting for my insides to ruin my evening. How we doin HROT?
Define bad family history.
I’m still a cologuard fan.

They found a small polyp on mine. It was benign. Said I need to be rechecked in 8 years because of it. But I don't have family history.

Be careful what you wish for.🤣

Maternal grandpa and mom both had stage 3, sister had precancerous polyps removed this summer.
So one per generation. The true genetic dna relationship is about a 3% chance i was told.
You’re already committed but unless i had symptoms i’d have requested the cologuard vs the scope.

I took the pills and it seemed much easier. I enjoyed the whole process. It was the best sleep I had in years.
OP… whatever you do… don’t fart unless you are on the toilet.

I also used the pills too so have no reference with the drink. However, the pills and water wasn’t a big deal it was the hours running to the toilet. And… the actual procedure I was out so that was a breeze as well.

Had a friend tell me never trust a fart.

The bad part is your insides are knots for a couple of hourse before the exfil starts. The worse part is once the exfil starts, there's no end.

Mrs a was an rn at an endoscopy center for a while pre Covid. Every quarter or so they’d get some lunatic nova woman who wanted to have a “natural” procedure. Which is to say no anesthesia.

In each case, that lasted about 12 seconds.

Not kidding.
