by my count, there will be 2 years (assuming everybody redshirts true fresh year) that all are trying for line up spots. Can they all fit in?

Curious how the Renteria and Meija dynamic will play out. Kemerer is a curious situation as well. Loaded at '49. Good problems to have. I'm going to predict Mejia at '25, Renteria at '33, and Kemerer at '57 eventually. Thats my take. Plenty of other Hawk fans on this board know WAY more than myself however.

I think We gotta get Singeltary at '97. We are stacked at a lot of other weights but theres a black hole at '97. It doesnt seem like TnT are even addressing this. Like the forgotten weight. Also Luke Troy will end up at '84. Just my take.

Tell me what weights they will all grow into and I will get back to you on where they all fit. Too many variables right now. Wrestle your best, continue to grow mentally and physically, avoid knuckle head mistakes off the mat, and focus on your studies would be my advice. Gilman covered this when he spoke about his recruitment after we had already added Clark. Training with the best shouldn't ever be a bad thing if you believe in yourself and want competition to help you meet your own goals.

From a fans point of view, sit back and enjoy as it should be fun! Even if it isn't then worst case scenario it will give us tons to speculate and bitch about; am I right?

I'm sure there are other examples, but the one that sticks out to me was Chad Beatty wrestling at 174.

Gillman is a good example on weight class. He wrestled 132 his senior year for the team. A lot of guys are wrestling different weight classes during the season because they can and for their team. Mar is another example as he's up at 170 now for the team. From the sounds of it he could make 57 rather easily.

This is just with chickens we already have hatched. Although Marinelli is not a 184, I doubt he'll ever see 174.

Potential recruits we could add into this list.
#1 JR in his weight class. Jacob Warner 182 lber in Illinois
#1 JR in his weight class Brady Berge @ 160 right now
#1 in his weight class Spencer Lee @120 right now.

Any of these studs could make a huge difference in how our lineup plays out.

How about:

125-Lee
133-Mejia
141-Turk
149-Kemerer
157-Troy
165-Marinelli
174-Young
184-Warner
197-Cook

Sam Cook? Thats a long shot. He will play FB somewhere. Has established he wants to play FB in college. What about A. Bradley? Not so sure he can't beat out Stoll eventually. He's more athletic and aggressive w/ the O. Wouldn't that be an interesting twist?

It was more wishful thinking with Cook. Holloway is the only option in the near future, as far as I can see.

I like your thinking Lax. A national title this year would go a long ways towards the recruitment efforts of young men such as these.

As invincible as PSU has been built up to be this season, I truly believe we have a great shot at a title this season, as well as next year. I love this teams mentality, seems a lot more offensive, championship minded than last year. Last year it seems like the Hawks took their #1 ranking for granted and wrestled not to lose and ended up getting nipped in the butt at NCAAs by a fired up tOSU team.

Next year we will have a championship team as well. And Penn State will have less production out of 125, 133, 197. But probably more production at 165, and 285. Probably 184 as well. The question is how much the points counterbalance eachother.

2016-2017
Gilman
Clark
Turk/Carton
Kemerer/Sorensen
Kemerer/Sorensen
Paddock/Gunther/Marinelli (I'm hoping Marinelli if hes top 5 material right out of the gate, and I suspect he is)
Meyer
Brooks
Holloway
Stoll

Also might be interesting to see Meyer and Brooks bump up, which has been floated around here. Meyer wrestled Miklus really tough last year up at 184, and weighed in at 174. He looks like he makes a monster cut to 174, which might attribute to some slow starting. But hes a hell of a rider, with a big tank. Brooks had some decent success wrestling up at 197 as a RS FR spot starting for Burak while he was in 'half-RS' until after Midlands. He looked good against everyone except McIntosh who picked him apart. The question is does..
165 Marinelli
174 Meyer
184 Brooks
197 Holloway

or

165 Marinelli
174 Paddock
184 Meyer
197 Brooks

score more points at NCAAs?

We all see how good Pfarr is doing at 197, and Brooks pretty much handled him last year at 184. He might have similar success?

I think Meyer could do really well at 97 with a full offseason with Rutt. His quickness and endurance would be assetts. He has proven to be strong enough to hang with the bigger guys. Brooks is perfect for 84. It would only work if we had a solid AA for 174. Holloway has the talent to make some noise once he develops a gas tank. He will make a jump similar to Stoll.

Just pointing out that Penn St. Might have more production out of 133 next year with Jered Cortez. Kids legit and did beat the starter this season but is ineligible due to transferring.

2016-17
Gilman > Suriano?
Clark > Cortez
Turk < Gulibon
Sorenson < Retherford
Kemerer < Nolf
Paddock < Hall?
Meyer < Nickel
Brooks > McCutcheon
Holloway >< ?
Stoll > Nevills

The Conaway win for Cortez is good, but teammates beat teammates occasionally. The rest of Cortez's resume doesn't scream world beater to me. Maybe a low AA, but I'd like to see him face other high ranked opponents to gauge how he'll do at 133 next season. Also I don't think Hall will be wrestling next year, word is he will Grayshirt/Redshirt. I'm not for sure on that, just many on PSU board do not expect Hall to wrestle next year for them attached. I think Joseph will wrestle 165 for PSU next year and score more points than Morelli/Rasheed this year. Marinelli has a legit shot of being the first True Freshman to start under Brands (If you don't count Burak due to his OTC Grayshirt). That will be a good matchup Joseph vs Marinelli. Also can't wait for Marinelli vs Hall at the All star classic.

No Hall...Most likely will have Cenzo in that slot because it doesn't look like Rasheed will be able to keep 165.
