Kevin Warren's political priorites ride shotgun

It’s only political if you view empowering young people, especially young minorities, to vote is a bad thing.

A bunch of hawks went to a Trump rally. They can vote, too.
He's the conference commissioner and is trying a lot harder to make sure athletes are registered to vote than to be sure they have an opportunity to be athletes.

That's the issue. If he made these statements AND did his primary job, there'd be no issue.

There are numerous organizations on campus pushing students (including athletes) to register/vote. None of those organizations can give athletes the opportunity to be athletes. He can, should try his best to do so, and isn't.

He should be trying to make the most money possible for the member schools period.

liberals are ruining cities! They should let conservatives run them, just look at the wonders being done in rural red America!

yes and the moment this becomes a political organization instead of a sports team is the moment we quit watching. and so it has happened.

By raising the voting age to 26, we could get this sort of nonsense off the table.

The issue is uninformed voters, and this would give all the influencers out there time to inform the younger crowd. No one seems to be teaching citizenship issues and responsibilities at any educational level that I can see ... so lets give everyone time to study/read about/prepare for citizenship on their own.

If Warren is fired in the meantime, that would be fine with me.

He clearly feels comfortable enough in his role to submit opinions from his bully pulpit relating to voting ... and in particular relating to who should be voting. That is absolutely NOT his role.
