Supposedly he self disclosed some (presumably minor) recruiting violation.
Kirk and Bud getting suspended for tampering with Cade when he was still at Michigan.

Sounds like it was self reported and the suspension is from Iowa, not NCAA.

Self reporting minor violations in todays NCAA environment is unnecessary IMO. They aren't enforcing anything so why bother?
They self-reported for Proctor and now there’s a potential NCAA investigation. Not a good look.
Can Budmayr be suspended permanently?
I mean, he helped propel Iowa’s passing offense (the reason he was brought in as an advisor) to 130th place last season. And now he’s suspended for a recruiting issue. Great addition.
Just super. Now if the offense looks pretty good or even decent Game 1 fans will assume it's because KF wasn't there.
