Kris getting David Palmered

Of Joe, Ahron, Jobo and CMAC, who has the lowest A/TO ratio?
Cmac at 6/1. Jbo is second at 3/1. Ulis and Joe are about the same at 2/1. In terms of assist to turnover margin on a per 40 basis, it's Joe at 4.9, Ulis at 4.6, Cmac at 4, and Jbo at 1.7.

Also a stupid stat IMO and typically used by people who have nothing else to use as an argument

The two of them had a total of 2 turnovers in 62 minutes - but I digress. And while this is not a bash Kris comment - he had 1 turnover in 11 minutes.
And pretty much every other stat over that 62 minutes was abysmal, but I digress. And while this is not a bash Pmac and Jbo comment, the 2 players you say have to handle the ball at the end of the game both turned it over. At the end of the game.

Why is that a stupid stat? It's simply a function of two legit stats. I agree that you need to look at the underlying numbers for a true picture but it's still legit.

I think using turnovers as an argument-based stat for a guy who has people sagging 6 feet off him is kind of ridiculous but to each their own

Well yes, there's some nuance involved. It's also important to reflect on whether it's a low ratio because of high assists or low turnovers or both. A player can have a high ratio but if they don't handle the ball a lot and are only generating a couple of assists a game it's a pretty irrelevant stat as well. I know people always marveled at Cmac's assist to turnover ratio but it was weighted more towards lower turnovers than exceptionally high assist numbers. Still a reflection of Cmac's nature of being very careful with the ball. I think at one point CJ led the country in that ratio. It was pretty meaningless since although he had no turnovers as a result of never handling the ball much, he also didn't have very many assists.

Depends on how you mean legit, I guess.

Pmacs was a still a TO on Iowa that was his fault. MN made a play, but it was Pmac’s fault. Just saying he wasn’t dribbling. That wasn’t the play BB called crap.

The crap call was the double dribble on JBo. Whether JBo double dribbled or not, there’s no way for the official who called it to see from where he was standing.
I'll look at it. I think when I looked at it before it looked legit but I could be wrong. Refs making calls on plays that they can't possibly see drives me nuts.

Really? Because according to ESPN, the numbers are
CMac - 1.9/0.3 (6.33/1)
JoBo - 1.5/0.5 (3/1)
Ahron - 3.0/1.1 (2.73/1)
Joe - 3.9/1.6 (2.44/1)
Regardless of how you extrapolate that, the numbers shouldn't change much because it's a ratio.

1. Kris has had some good games but Minnesota wasn't one of them. Not to be hard on the kid, but he was pretty darn bad against the Minny.

2. Kris wasn't the only bench player with reduced minutes in the game. Fran happened to ride the starters longer in that one

3. Is there actually someone out there that believes Palmer deserved any minutes?
He played 11 minutes... If you give him PMAC minutes he's trending to 15pts, 6 Reb, 3 Ast, 3 Blocks. What are people watching...

Yeah. I was lazy and eyeballed/rounded the ratio. Did it really change anything in the order of things? Still Cmac/Jbo/Ulis/Jbo.

On comparisons of absolute numbers I always use per 40 numbers to normalize the minutes. Otherwise the comparisons become kinda meaningless. I already stated that.

The travel on JoBo. He didn't travel, watch the replay.

I thought the JBO call was double dribble not travel...JBO dribble, was going to shoot and he put two hands on the ball at same time and then decided to not shoot and continued the dribble. I never saw the replay, maybe bad call.

So why isn't Kris playing better so Fran can give him more minutes. This is totally on Kris! 🤪

Of course you did!
LOL!
You were wrong. Again. It was a double dribble that was called. He had the ball in his left hand and in between dribbles he brought his right hand up to the ball. It looked like he was intending to switch hands but then he pulled his right hand away. Couldn't see whether he actually touched it with the right hand or not so no way for the viewer to tell if it was the correct call or not.

It was. BB was wrong. I just looked at it. I see why it was called. Probably a correct call but no way to tell for sure from the TV shot.

No way for the ref to call it, either.
Meh. He had a better view than we did. Jbo gave him a reason to blow the whistle and he did. I think he just had a bit of a brain fart along with some indecision. It happens. Especially when you're tired. Fran was yelling at him to just shoot the ball afterwards so he wasn't a fan of what Jbo did either.

Fran will never see all or better options with this team with Connor, Patrick and JBo on the team. He is not objective when it comes to these three. They are family. Yes I did include Jordon. He can’t even see that when Connor is on the court it makes it so much easier for the other team to double Keegan. It’s automatic. He can’t see that when Jordon is on the court it breaks down their entire defense.

Jonesy is correct, it was a double dribble called against Bohannon.

Jordon? You got Connor right but not Jordan?

Might be. Supposed to be objective and consistent, right?

;)
Remember the insanity that ensued every year the selection committee used the RPI as a primary selection tool before they finally admitted how nonsensical it really was and dropped it altogether? They currently have Iowa at 72 behind 7-7 Hofstra and 6-5 Nevada.
