has it been confirmed yet that he left the team. or is he still on campus.

Someone in lounge said he was in class. Don’t think he is with team

Yeah, that's all I know for sure really. Reported back to campus when classes started in August, but then they removed him from the roster so it appears he's no longer with the team. No official announcement at this point though.

I have to believe the leave is a result of ongoing injury complications. I continue to get the impression he will never contribute.

Q. Kyshaun Bryan, is he ready to go?
KIRK FERENTZ: He's taking a leave right now, so we're going to bring him back at bye week and kind of circle back, see where he's at, and see if he's more prepared to practice.

there is the answer, whatever it means :)

That makes it sound like he skipped camp or wasn’t 100% into right before camp started and they asked him not to show

Blair just posted that it's not injury related. I'm wondering if there was a family/personal problem over the summer or maybe depression from his injury difficulty.

Also, if it was injuries, wouldn't they want him on the team in order to rehab with the trainers?

Gotta think it's either academics or something personal.

He is attending classes so A) he is paying his own way and wants to be here, or B) he is on scholarship and Kirk wants him to be here. I'm cool either way.
So we aren't screwed if he just decides he doesn't want to play? That's good!

Scholarship good for this semester. If he decides not to play, he will be off scholarship in January unless there is health or medical issue. Then KH would put on medical hardship and scholarship wouldn’t count toward 85

That could definitely be it. The fact that they won't say what the issue is, i.e. injury or academic makes me lean this way. Some kind of personal issues.

Nothing like that. Basically just not putting in the work that's expected of a Division I college football player. He won't be at Iowa much longer unless he does a 180.

Wow. Thanks for the update. Thats really hard to believe that a kid with this kind of opportunity, at a school that puts emphasis on the run, and can definetly prepare you for the league, just doesn't put forth the effort. It happens I guess, but its still a little hard to fathom.....
