Garza himself said he was disappointed in the team's effort -- lack of hustle, poor defense, and not going after rebounds and loose balls. Look it up.
I was shocked at what appeared to be a lack of intensity from the Hawkeyes. The poor passing, especially from JBo, persisted throughout the game, but was especially egregious early. JBo seemed like he was not feeling well. I don't know, but he never looked like himself in any respect from the opening tip to the end. I kept calling for Fran to get him out and get Joe T in there, and once Joe did finally get in, you saw what he did.
I think it might be time to start Joe T and bring the veteran JBo off the bench.
But overall, I expected the Hawkeyes to play with their hair on fire. Instead, they seemed to be going through the motions. I don't get it. Guys playing pick-up games at the rec center dive for loose balls, battle for rebounds, and play in-your-face defense. Why the hell can't the Hawkeyes, especially when they're playing the #1 team in the country after six days off?
