Weird you spit on someone and get punched.
Watching it again and focusing on the kid who got punched…he’s looks hurt pretty badly.

Yep, you assault a cop, expect the consequences.
They should have put him in handcuffs after that. At the very least, they separated him from the suspect/victim.
Well... It's rude and inappropriate, but what the cop did in retaliation was much worse.

So throw another charge at him. He was already restrained and was of no danger to that officer.

He was already restrained and you just add an additional charge or charge him with assault on a police officer for the spitting. There was no need to go punch him. Thus the other officers there separated him from doing it again or any other further action.

This ones easy... Fire him. Gotta clean out these bad apples. That's how you clean up the police force. Not defunding them.... just holding them accountable for blatant bad actions. He Gone.
Yep, charge the perp with battery on an leo, and charge the leo with battery as well.
Fire him, and arrest him for aggravated battery. It's very simple.
Unfortunately that culture exists in many police departments. I'm not defending it just pointing it out.

If you assault someone who's restrained, should you also expect the consequences?
If you assault a cop, shouldn't the consequences be a criminal charge, trial, and probable conviction, and probable jail time?
The bigger problem is teaching kids respect imo. Yes, is the cop wrong...of course. But you have to know that if you disrespect someone to that level, you better expect a reaction.
I don’t blame the cop for it but cops are expected to be better and act better than average joe.

Nobody was there, we have know idea what led up to this. The kid was obviously doing something he shouldn't have or why have all the officers there?
These officers are way overworked right now. Not to mention being disrespected all the time. We used to look up to the police and now they get spit on and objects thrown at them.

The kid was completely restrained, and the cop wasn't even in the picture until he came up and punched the kid. You can rationalize all you want, but it doesn't matter. The cop committed aggravated battery.
I said that. The bigger issue thought is the erosion of the nuclear family. If you want to fix these things, start there.
The cop was out of line but the perp should’ve expected to get whacked somehow.

Not disagreeing with you. The cop should be punished...probably even fired. But people are going to keep being blown away by all of these things happening in the world around them while the fix is pretty obvious.

Respect is earned. I don't think the guy in the stretcher was randomly calling the cop a bitch. I'm guessing the guy had already hit him or done something physically harmful to the guy. He wasn't addressing any of the other officers just the guy who sucker punched him.
Get these bad cops out of service. They obviously can't handle the pressure of the job and they give all the good cops out there are bad name.

Failure to report the crime of an assault by a police officer. Covering it up.
But, I don’t think they should be fired in this case. Just disciplined. But, the cop who sucker punched a defenseless, injured person should be fired.
