Actually, that was K. C. Jones. The K stood for K, and the C stood for C.

They didn't face K.C. Jones. In those days the NCAA allowed red-shirts only few and far between. In fact hardly ever. He red-shirted one year for a reason I don't remember, maybe injury, and played his last year up to the NCAA. But when that time came , the NCAA said nope. You can look up the box score and he isn't in it. They won anyway, but only 4 games won the NCAA then.
