For the same reason those on the GOP side only post the videos when a group of black teenagers beat up a white kid. It helps their narrative. Do you think anyone really takes jscott seriously on this board? Sure we love the entertainment he provides from ruffling the feathers of people like you, but nobody really takes him seriously. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if he was a right-leaning member trying to make the left-leaning people look bad.

Maybe try to not let things that are out of your control worry you so much. Not sure why I have to tell a grown man that, but sometimes we need a little reminding that we can only control so much of what others do.

And this is the entire root of the problem right here and the reason why it absolutely will not be solved.

Racial issues are too caught up in political narratives. Asking us to solve our racial issues might as well be asking the Republicans and Democrats to start agreeing on everything.

We can't solve this problem because identity politics rules this country. People don't judge actions or words just on the face of what they are, they judge them by who did them. They judge them by their age, race, sex, gender, where they are from and what they do for a living and use that to formulate a calculation as to how likely it is that person is on "their side" and then judge it based on that and not based on the action or words themselves.

No, I'm not. I can see why you'd think that. You have a knack for putting words in others' mouths before arguing with them. You wanna know how I know that's mainstream thought? I took an introductory sociology course as an undergrad at Iowa and the topics were nature/nurture and socioeconomics.

Sociology is a pretty liberal discipline. What that guy said (and what you lauded) was basically the consensus of the sociologists who wrote the textbook for the class I had. Those are the serious people who would actually pose and seek to answer a question like "why do liberals focus on white racism."
