It is such a brutally long trip ... I think it is a tough situation for us. Teams as good or better than us have struggled out there. Our senior-laden team had trouble out there last year, IIRC.
We can't get down 8-0 at the start again. Let's hope we are ready to play and Fran finds the right combo

Yes, the short turn around/long trip was my 1st concern as well. Lots of guys can play though, like you said can't get buried early. That is the biggest key.
I wish I felt good about this game. The only thing that comes to mind is no road wins yet, and I'm a prove it to me predictor.

Jok not playing will hurt this squad. They are a better "home" team than they are "away." I do not like this match-up because Rutgers will defend us for the full 40min. Their offense isn't anything to write home about, but I am sure someone will go off tonight.

Jok in current status playing would KILL this team. He is horrible on defense with his issues and doesn't score enough or take care of ball to offset that. We are better off with current JOK not playing. Wagner/Cook/Pemsl need to own the interior.
It isn't brutal by any definition. They are boarding an airplane and will arrive in a couple of hours, about the same time as a road trip from IC to Des Moines. Its not like they are traveling to New Zealand. If it was my 92 year old great aunt Mary, I might be concerned.

Statistically, their only advantage is on the boards. That says: we outboard them and we win. I'd like to see lots of Baer and Kriener tonight, our best rebounders.

I thought our spacing and our movement on offense was the best its been all season. Also I know Rutgers got a lot of looks at the basket, we did a good job of battling for the loose ball. Hopefully these past two games builds some confidence and hopefully PJ see's he has help out there when he returns!

Charter flights don't travel as fast as commercial jets and commercial jets take over 3 hours just flight time. I am guessing 4 hours each way when you add in the bus to Piscataway. Try it with a bad back sometime. Then turn around the next day and fly back.
I fly from DSM to beautiful, exotic Detroit next week. Direct flight. 2 full hours. Piscataway is a heck of a lot farther from Cedar Rapids...

Very happy to be wrong...just felt, until you actually accomplish a goal (winning a road game in the B10, beating a quality team in the B10, beating a quality B10 team on the road, etc) - it's gonna be tough to do.
