Read an article on ESPN+ today that showed Miami made back the entirety of their $150 million investment in Messi by year one. They’re now at $200 million in revenue already this year. And this is not counting the league revenue from things like jersey sales and increased sponsors and sponsorship values. Meanwhile, on the field, Messi helped his country win Copa America and is currently on a brace of goals, about to clinch an MLS Supporters Shield (regular season champs) for Miami on FS1. Success on and off the field.
My oldest son was at the game tonight and sent me a video of Messi scoring a set piece goal at Columbus. Stadium was packed.
Lucky guy. Where was his seat? Columbus was at least their equal as a team, but Miami has Messi and Suarez. Too much finishing quality. He saw history. First MLS hardware for Miami since 2001:
