Little Bro being little bro.....

Well consider the bad years Iowa had and the continued hope the fan base had for better days. Iowa got Fry and took off. There was also more support from the University for Athletics then ISU had for many years. You play the hand you're dealt I guess.

As bad as Iowa was we are no where near as pathetic as isu. Evy had success prior to Hayden which showed Iowa could win at a high level. isu has never been able to win at a high level. That isn't a hand you are dealt, that is a tradition of sucking.

The reason beating Iowa is so important is because Iowa is one of the worst teams ISU plays every year. To get to 6 wins, you have to beat Iowa, because Iowa is in the bottom 6 teams we play every year. Same again for 2016.
UNI, Toledo, WVU, TX, KS, KSU

Nice try chump....

Toledo and West Virginia were not garbage at all. ISU had the third hardest SOS in the country because of who they had to play.
Here we go again...but SOS, what about SOS, SOS, SOS, SOS...a have a few acronyms to describe this- STFU, SMH, WTF, GFY, etc.

WV got beat by the 3 good teams by 20, 24, and 30. Impressive....

Toledo had one decent regular season win...a. 4 point win over ARK....Also quite impressive :)

I guess playing Iowa really bumped you guys up lol

I still support him and think he's a good Athletic Director

Good is a relative term.

Since arriving in Ames in October 2005, the isu football program under this illustrious AD has achieved a record of 41-82 overall and 19-66 conference mark. That includes only three bowl invites (the only three times that isu was eligible to participate in the postseason) with one win in those games.

Football is the driving force of today's college athletics and this is the result this 'good' AD has provided.

Congratulations.

This. Pollard sucks ass. But by all means please keep him!

He's got our basketball program in a very healthy place and hired Matt Campbell. Plus look at what he's done in terms of facility upgrades

Basketball is not what is important. Think Power 5 Conferences and football playoffs. Where does isu under this 'good' AD fit into the picture?

Facility upgrades? When the 'good' AD first arrived in Ames, he was talking facility upgrades... just not for the then current football coach (he got fake smoke machines and inflatables and virtually nothing else). Ten years later and increased seating (that went largely unused) and a new practice building but no increase in wins. Wow... what a great return on invested dollars.

Football is the name of the game. Period. Matt Campbell has done nothing thus far and you are ready to declare him the savior. You really do a great (not just good) job of epitomizing the typical isu fan. Hire a new coach (three times in a decade) and let us proclaim him to be the best thing to ever happen to isu football even before he calls his very first play.

Like I said before, congrats.

I'm glad we hired the Matt the Savior Campbell then!

There is really 10 pages on this forum about the scoreboard in the background of a tweet about an Iowa State recruit?

I can't even imagine caring about that.

Wasn't it Pollard who said football is what drives the athletic department? 41-82 sure is exhibit A as to how awesome Pollard is at hiring and firing football coaches.

Yes it is. ISU will have one of the best back courts in the country next year with Monte, Naz, Thomas and Jackson
They have had 4 head coaches since 2005, even with success they can't hold on to a coach. That is far from healthy IMO

They have been to five straight NCAA Tournaments and next year will be six. Sounds healthy to me
Successful yes, but healthy no. Unless they change their approach I fear (actually hope) that his will become more of a flash in the pan rather as opposed to sustaining this success. I could be wrong of course (wouldn't be the last time) but if Iowa had this approach I would certainly be enjoying it now, but if I were being real I would be more than concerned as to why even with such success we can't keep a coach (an alum at that) and when will this transfer U situation blow up in my face. As I said I am very happy with the Iowa program and approach as I am sure you are with ISU....however, I have a feeling your SOS BS will be talked about in 2 sports here very soon

I missed where it was addressed that isu was even breaking even in the lesser world of college basketball. Over $1.3 million spent on recruiting and not near commensurate results.

Guess that goes hand-in-hand with making each of the last three football hires the single highest paid new employee in the State of Iowa. Tell us more about how 'good' that AD is.

I'm very happy with Iowa State's recruiting. There's a reason they've made it to five straight NCAA Tournaments and have made the second weekend twice in three years. Money well spent

isu grads sure do cling to their SOS myth. In fact it has easily come to the forefront isu's failure culture. If it isn't the refs beating them then it is that they suck because of their bogus SOS.

Unfortunately they only play Kirk Ferentz once a year considering they have a winning record against his teams.

I'd agree with Iowa State fans that they would probably win more games if they played in the B1G than they do in the big12. But we are talking 1-2 games a year, MAX. Whats the difference between 3-9 or 2-10 and 4-8 or 5-7? Who really cares? Strange to me that they cling to this.

Yeah. Real unfortunate idiot. Keep racking up the losing seasons in Ronald McDonald stadium. Keep Jamie. Keep your new coach for 4 years til you fire him or better yet keep him for 10 years because he wins 5 games a year. Putz

Not sure how they would win more games in a better conference, other than the fact that there are more teams so they could miss playing some of the "big dogs" some years. However, who would they beat? Rutgers probably, maybe Purdue (ask nebby about this) Illinois-no, NW-no,minny-no,indiana-no, maryland-no and the rest are no brainers
