Alabama had the toughest SOS in the country last year. USC was #2 followed by Iowa State
What are two teams known to have football success and tradition and one other team that does not, Alex?
Alabama and USC = Success
Iowa State = No Success
Did I guess right?
If I am being honest, I do highly respect ISU and UNI fans. There are so many people in our great state that are, for instance, Alabama fans, and have never even been within 2 hours of the city and/or stadium. I mean especially ISU fans because they are loyal even through the dumpster fire that just keeps on burning. However, what gets old is these stupid trivial SOS and our new coach BS year after year after year.Alabama and USC = Success

Just admit that your team is garbage, but you are still a fan. I had to do that in 2012 and late 90's in football and the Lick years in basketball....it's really not that hard, my buddies who are Cubs fans have been doing it for years
You are not as bad as mostI think I've made it very clear I think ISU football is bad
After reading this entire thread I do have to agree, CyCity is a good poster. Several times hawk fans called names and blamed him for things he didn't say and he didn't take the bait. Seems to take a good beating just like his fav football teamYou are not as bad as most
That's a cherry pick stat ( somthing ISU is great at), and what I said is still correct. ISU fans will never stop lying to themselves. Your top of the conf teams played nobodies except each other. When they did play someone they got their shit pushed in.
Actually, no. The quality of a team has virtually no effect on its SOS, and what little effect it has is the opposite of what you seem to think. There are obv many things that go into sos clown poster. He is suffering from the same delusion that affects a number of posters on this board. Doesn't understand what SOS means.Alabama had the toughest SOS in the country last year. USC was #2 followed by Iowa State

This. All ISU fans read this and think about it for the rest of your lives. You are suffering from the delusion that any of this matters anyways. Hard to make a turd shine no matter how you spin it. Enjoy next season bud, your at the bottom of the least respected major conf. Congrats to you and your "program on the rise".
I agree, considering SOS is highly impacted by a bunch of sports writers opinions of teams before they have even played a game.Lol clown
Really? so when Iowa causes multi teams to fall down the rankings like last year, it doesn't hurt their sos? And when teams put up 50+ on your clown squad and move up the ranking it doesn't make your sos tougher? Makes sense. in the case of bama every single team in the sec west was ranked in top 25 but one to start the season. Sos is a joke in that case and also in the case of the Shit b12. It's a stat used by fans that have nothing else to say.

Rutgers lost 8 games and their SOS was 50th. Purdue lost 10 games and their SOS was 40th. ISU lost 9 games and their SOS was 3rd.

Much like so many of the sentiments expressed in 2008/09 when local hero, Paul Rhoads was hired and in 2006 when your AD fired Dan McCarney before the season was even done in order to find the absolutely best man to lead isu above and beyond. How did that work out for you?
You don't think Iowa State is relevant for basketball?
It's funny teams that finish towards the bottom like Iowa state, Purdue, Boston college or Kentucky always talk about SOS. Hmmm what do they have in common let me see no matter who they play they aren't a good team end of excuses. As been mentioned before look at okie st, OU, TCU and baylors non conference schedule. Reason They all went 3-0.
Why would Kentucky, Purdue or Boston College talk about SOS? They all had easy schedules unlike Iowa State

Shared a title. Kinda weird, they tied at 2-0, and finished ahead of Drake at 2-2, and another team was 2-3.isu sucks regardless of schedule. It can't be schedule that is the reason they haven't won a conference title since 1912.

isu would have been lucky to win 3 games with Iowa's schedule in 2015.[/QUOTE
Not all of us are excited about this season.I don't completely disagree with you , but , how many teams that were ranked at the time playing, did Iowa beat?
Not trying to be a smart ass. Just asking. I know there is bias and what site I am on so getting past that. As much as hawk fans are excited for this season so are Clone fans. We have a new coach and assistants and a fresh attitude. There is hope. There signs of positive directions getting positive results. Neither teams fans should be comparing to gauge one from the other but then again, that's what rivals do.
Have a nice day.

A lot of us are optimistic about the long-term prospects and eager to see what the new guy puts on the field, but with the OL situation and the schedule (I ignore the morons who believe a team's record has nothing to do with how good its opponents are) a fan can't be both excited and realistic about next fall.
More power to you, though, brother.
That is only because of the inflated big 12 record due preseason rankings (which are really dumb) and the conferences weak non conference schedule. If you look at the schedule objectively you will find that Iowa's schedule is really not as bad as many make it out to be. Just because they didn't play the preseason favorites doesn't mean they didn't play and beat some really good teams. Especially considering they played MSU and Stanford. Not to mention 10 win NW, Wisconsin not too shabby, Pitt ended up better than most expected. Indiana was much better than most thought and still think and obviously Nebraska was title contenders, just ask them about it![]()
