Amen! I'm up in Andover.. it's been an awful few weeks! Not only because they made it but they specifically single out Iowa to point fingers at who didn't make it.. their Iowa obsession is weird..
Nate Mason and their other starting guard are class acts! They invite women over, have sex, videotape it and post it on Twitter! I am surprised they only got a 4 game suspension at the end of last season.

I'm not happy it turned out this way, but I learned a long time ago that hating your rival's success only makes you smaller. Look to see what they did well and emulate what you can to make yourself better next year. It's the only thing we've got.

And to think, the 10 Minnesota football players were at least smart enough not to post their gang rape video on Twitter. But they videotaped the very beginning of what became rape nonetheless.

Nobody here, including you, would be interested in facts. But the facts are that college kids had consensual sex with a woman and video taped it. One of their phones was stolen and 4 seconds (roughly) of the video was posted. It was immediately taken down. One person was shown in the video.
Pitino chose to suspend 3 players for four games because he thought it wasnt representative of the program he wanted. If not for that, two of the players would have never been connected to the video and could have extremely easily been swept under the rug. Because of that approach, he gets the label as a problem "culture" which is funny because if it wasn't for the strict discipline the outward appearance of the program would have been one "rogue" player. But because he chose a tougher discipline he gets labeled a program out of control for, again, consensual college sex.
But it's more sensational to,label it as the previous poster did.
My point is that both were actually very trivial events. One had kids miss 4 games the other zero. I'm not sure any of them should have missed any games.
The Pierce situation is not comparable. That was sexual assault. The Gopher basketball players were never charged, investigated or even insinuated of a crime. They were suspended for moral behavior.
So I actually think they are comparable. And again, I couldn't care less that Jok didn't miss any games. I don't really think he should have.

See my other reply. I'm not advocating Joks suspension. I'm saying stretching the truth or being moral judge and jury in situations we know virtually no facts in the name of a school rivalry is pretty stupid. It's trivializing young students' lives. These are kids with real lives ahead of them.

That's not true. I might feel a bit smug next year when Minnesota is expected to be a contender for everything. This season I'll be giddy with a trip to the Sweet 16.
Let them have their fun, they haven't had much of anything going in any sport for several years.
Iowa will be back soon enough. In the meantime going to enjoy B1G teams in the tourney & look forward to spring ball & a Nate Stanley/BF/KOK guided offense.
